Crusaders Part 5

Present

"Those we kill are not of Man but of demonic nature. So excuse me if I feel no remorse to removed them back to Hell. Angel, you linked me to my descendants and yet I am not amuse to be linked to the Tribes. I do not see how I can be one from the Tribes when I looked at my genealogy chart; my descendants came from the northern cold. I doubt they are descended from the Tribes." Baron Helmut is very proud of his heritage.

"True to your nation, but your family line did had one from the Judah Tribe. It was not a he but a she who married one of your ancestors sometime in the early Roman era. She gave you the genealogy of the Tribe to you." Gabriel chose not to hide his words as he explain to the German noble. "That was why you developed the skills to kill the demons. Its in your blood. Your desire fuel your skill."

Thirty Years ago.

The Black Forest lies south west of the homeland, with its great lush forest that holds its own inhabitants; mystical and normal humans. The carriage carrying the Von Kluck family members weaved its way past the thick forests that day near dusk. In the carriage are the young mother and her son of ten years ago. They were returning back to their castle in Upper Rhine Graben when the wheel of the carriage broke. The coach men took some time to replace the wheel and to continues their journey. By then the skies was getting dark and the path more darkened, as their journey continues on the dark path.

"Henry, did you load in the pistols? I do not want to be caught without one." The coachman who was speaking is a retired Bavarian who once served in the army.. He is holding in his arm the cross bow of his military years. He had replaced the arrow head with that made of silver. He wears on his neck the sign of the cross which now held in his left hand.

"Old Man Smith, of course I did. The pistols are below you and so is the flintlock rifle. I also have a bottle of the holy water, just in case. I heard of the incident at Strasbourg." Henry holding the reins is a younger man who rode these paths many a times during the last year. He was formerly from Mannheim and ended up here to manage his Uncle's farm. But he was to be coachman as the farm was taken over by the rightful heir.

Even if Smith replied, it would not matter as something had grabbed Henry and flew off with him. The horses are loose and the carriage is running wild without a driver. Smith tried very hard to take hold of the horses but the carriage skidded on it side.

Smith was the first to recover after he was thrown off the carriage. He saw the carriage laying on it side and crawled to it. He saw the matchlock pistol and took it with him. He searched for the rifle but he cannot find it. Then he saw the bloodied hand that he followed his eyes to that of the lady of the House.

"Oh, my God'" Smith start to move to the carriage and then he saw the boy. The boy is safe and he is glad. He reached for the kid when he felt something pulling his leg. He looked back to his legs and saw the demon who is pulling his leg. Its a werewolf and its young one. He turned back to the boy and told him to hide. Then he turned to the demon and raised the pistol. But he did not shoot and instead drew on his blade at the belt. The werewolf has sunk its teeth into his shin and is drawing his flesh.

"Aargh!" Smith drew his blade and cut at the werewolf gnawing at his shin. The werewolf withdrew on being cut and Smith pulled his leg up. The demon has withdrawn and Smith is holding onto his mauled leg. Smith turned to see the boy who has crawled out of the carriage. Smith threw the pistol to the boy and motioned to him to shoot with the finger. The demon has returned and jumped onto Smith's back and laid his fangs on the back of the neck.

"No!" Smith shouted out in pain, but he know he is a dead man. He swung his body so that the demon would not see the boy. He heard the gunshot and the demon is twitching before it laid down dead. Smith last look was to see the boy who is now holding the smoking pistol. The demon laid dead next to Smith with a gunshot wound in the back of the head. Was it a lucky shot or whatever, but it stopped the demon.

The boy was rescued in the late morning by the group sent by the castle. He was to grow up with the skills of using his grandfather's sword. His name is Helmut Von Kluck. He was ten years old then His next demon kill was when he was eighteen and he did not stopped since then.
