Othello the Legatus Act 5 Scene 1 Part 2 Prologue 32

Prologue 32

Iago ran to his room when he heard the shouting. He was very young and such noise scared him. His only sanctuary was the room at the rear of the house. He closed the door and sat with back against it. He heard the shouting and the breaking of things. He knew the later was his mother; she was always throwing things when she gets angry.

"Its those whores again." His mother was heard shouting. Then her father was heard in a harsher voice.

"Yes, but they are mine. But what am I not to do? You were not much of a ...whore yourself. You were always shutting me out." Then the sound of her mother screaming came.

"No, Noah." She screamed. "No!"

Then there was silence. Iago sat there for sometime. When he came out, he knew that something was wrong. His mother was lying on the floor with blood over her. She whispered to her.

"Its always the whore. They are the ones causing all of this."
