The Dark Queen of White 1.28.

28.

Queen Clarity looked very much like a widow in her dark shades and veils while the Lords and Ladies all offered their condolences. King Thaddeus had succumbed to his injuries after the attack by assailants in his tent during his tour at the borders. They had not found the assailants; believed to be Picts. Even Merlin came to paid his respect and had requested for an audience with the Queen.

Queen Clarity had declined his request. She was not pre-occupied with her care; the precious Princess had journeyed to the country home to spend some time alone. She had taken her friend, Red with her and left a message for the Queen.

“Don’t come to look for me.”

Merlin was upset that the Queen had declined him. He had wanted to talk to her. He then decided to look for the other.

“Nimue, its me Merlin.” Merlin stood there by the stream near the castle. “I know you are here.”

The Lady in the Lake dwell in the lakes as we all knew but they also moved with the streams and any flowing waters. She appeared over the lake surface and floated over. She then stepped on the ground, and approached Merlin.

“I send you over to protect the King, and he died.” Merlin came on straight out.

“Protect? I was asked by you to see him. But he was not keen to see me.” Nimue replied.

“Nimue, I called on you …”

“To fulfill your quest.” Nimue told him. “Merlin, you planned it all. You could deceive most others, but not me. You set her up, knowing she was a potential to be the Iron Lady. You arranged it for her, removing her child, and her lover. Then you set me to so called protect him but he refused my help. He wanted only you.”

Merlin kept silent. He had planned some of the moves, for his quest was to have his own care become the King. Not any King but the King of the Kings. King Thaddeus may be a hindrance with his power and army, and the best way to removed him was to kill him. He had that done with the involuntary help of Nimue to convince the Queen. She sent her servants. Without the King, the Queen would take over the lands. And not all the Lords would accept her. Merlin plan was to dissolve the alliance of the Lords so that his care would be able to conquer them.

Arthur was to conquer them and rule them himself.

“Yes, I had it all planned.” Merlin admitted his works.

“Then it time we leave her. She would live her destiny now.” Nimue told the wizard.
