Crusaders III: The New Age 1.39

6.2.          Nephilim

Helmut stood his ground while he drew on his broadsword. It glowed on the approach of the new threat. The Nephilim landed on its feet; it was a huge figure of a Man standing at twice his height, dressed in armor of metal plates, and carried a large mallet. On its head was the helm that covered part of its face. It had the emblem of the trident on its face.

“Thor? I guess not. You are too far from your realm.” Helmut then rushed at the giant with his sword. “There are no known surface my sword cannot cut.”

The sword slashed out but was blocked by the mallet held by the giant. The clash of the two weapons sparked off a kinetic surge which caused the nearby electronic boards to short out. Helmut then turned his body to use his shoulder to slam into the giant. He body hit the giant lower chest, but he also snaked the hilt of his sword to hit at the right underarm of the giant. That blow hit below the armor cover, and into the flesh. It caused the giant to screamed and reeled backward. The shot came from the rear and blew the upper face of the giant exposed by the backward move.

Helmut looked to the rear and saw Micheal holding his phaser.

“It was an opportunity.” Micheal smiled but he did not see the new threat.

The blow caused Micheal to be thrown across the tunnel, while Greta got her face slammed into the wall. There were two Vampires there standing there. Helmut sprang into action at the Vampires, but they went scaling up the tunnel walls like spiders. Helmut was past the pleasantries while he used his broadsword on a reversed thrust with the changed of his hold on the hand. He slashed across the top of his head at the Vampires and brought them down. The Vampires fell but they were not dead. They crouched up but Helmut was not finished then. He swept his sword back in the reverse cut across their neck to remove the heads.

“Good works, Helmut.” Micheal sat up and moved to get his bag but rolled on instinct. He lay down on his back and drew up knees to stop the Vampire dropped on him. He kicked out and searched for his phaser. He got it and rolled to his side to drop the Vampire with three shots.

“What the~” Helmut was not listening to the other while he checked out Greta. She was still alive but her unconscious. He carried her and looked for the nearest exit. He had to get her to some medic help. He looked to Micheal.

“Do you know where the medical facility is?” Helmut asked. Micheal nodded.

“But I doubt it is working.” Micheal added in. “The war could had wiped it out.”
