Lucifer
Lucifer stood by the roadside and looked at the
Diner. He had arrived with Charlie by the vehicle he had taken from the owner.
He had realized that Charlie was not any lady that he had met. He had known her
for some weeks, not knowing why he was attracted to her. He could have any
ladies to his charms, but why the lady named Charlie. And more so when she was
with a child. He treated her well and charmed his way around her.
“Stan, would you love the child?”
“Silly of you. It’s to be our child Of course, I
will.” Lucifer in his assumed identity as Stan replied. “I love you.”
Those were empty words that he normally uttered to
the many ladies he had seduced but then with Charlie, he felt differently. He
smiled to himself at his emotions; he had always treasured one love that was
his Lilith before she left him for Adam. He had confronted Lilith then.
“It was a task that I needed to accomplish,” Lilith
told him then. “We are to be the forefront of humanity in that dimension. It’s
a pioneering task. There will be any after his maybe not for long. Can you …”
“What of us? I have been your mate for …” Lucifer
declared.
“Far too long, If I ignore this task, I am one of
many here. But with that task, I am one too many. I am the progeny of mankind.”
Lilith had explained further. “No more reasoning, Lucifer. Be content we had an
encounter before.”
It was how Lucifer should have felt with Charlie but
he was drawn to her. He had taken her away from the city when he felt that
their existence was threatened. He felt that they were watched and then decided
to fled with her. He drove her out of the city but the journey of his was to
end at the Diner. He had taken her into the Diner and then excused himself to
the car. He stood by the car and looked at the Diner.
“Charlie, I know of the child. I also know that if I
am with you, I may endanger you and the child. I need to distance from you but
I promised to be back when the child is born.” Lucifer muttered to himself
then. He saw Charlie looking at him.
“Did you say something?” Charlie asked when she
stepped off the car
“Nope. It must be the winds. I thought you wanted to
use the bathroom? Go on ahead. I will fill up the gas.” It was his departing
words to her. Soon after she stepped into the Diner, Lucifer was making his
steps to leave. He drove the car off then. Unknown to him then, Azrael and
Lilith had tailed him to the Diner. They confer on the issue and decided that
to leave Charlie alone for the time being.
“The child will be handled only after birth. We do
not move for now.” Lilith told Azrael. “Monitor Lucifer. If he returns, remove
him.”
“I have left words with the Angels.” Lilith has
an alliance with the Angels after the war. “They will whisper the existence of the
child to the Supreme.”
“As if he does not know?” Azrael replied in a
sarcastic tone.
“It does not matter. What we need is the balance
to win the war.” Lilith smiled. “I have awaited a lifetime for this. Lucifer
may hold that key. We need him defeated but alive to reveal the key.”
Azrael nodded to the words of his leader. It was
Lilith who told him to hide and research on the defeat of the Fallen. She had
said that even the Gods have another more powerful than them. It had paid off,
and the child was their salvation and with the new Gods, the Fallen may come to
strength once more but under her leadership. For his own safety, Azrael stayed
close to Lilith.
Survivals
The three Angels and Fallen charged at the demons
advancing on them. Lucifer’s trident flames flared towards the demons, and the
blue flames burned at the demons on contact. The smell of burnt flesh of the
demons soon assaulted Lucifer’s smell. His flame flared to a distance of fifty
feet was like a whip that lashed out at the demons. It soon formed a circle
with burnt demons on the ground.
Michael’s Excalibur was a weapon that he needed to
wield into the demons. Its length was the blade but the sword cut into the
demons flesh as if it was wafer-thin. It severed the demons of its limbs or the
slashed across the chest to remove the head. The demons fought back with their
talons and fangs whichever that came close to its contact.
“Die, beast!” Michael slashed at the demon which
towered twice his height and held four arms and the head of a minotaur. He
slashed at the left lower limb to bring the beast down to its knees and then
with a backward slash, he removed the two upper limbs across the shoulder. He
then twisted his hands to bring the sword down on the horns and cut away the
head into two. He then felt the impact of another from the rear and brought him
to lunge forward. He was headed to another huge beast with the serpent head and
its scaly frame when his wings spread out to levitate him. He flew upwards and
then did a turn to swoop on the demon that hit from the rear. He swung the
sword to remove the bull’s head from its frame. He held the sword with both
hands and had it leveled in front to fly into the demons. He swung his sword
in small slashes to cut through the demons in its path before he swoops up.
“Rise, brothers!” Gabriel held the Horn to rally the
Seraph Warriors that had joined him. He saw the Seraph Warriors descent with
their wings swept back and held various weapons from the swords to the mace,
and war hammers. They tore into the ranks of the demons and fought towards the
three warrior leaders. Not all of them were able to fight through. Gabriel saw
one warrior he knew as Tumis was caught by the left foot by the towering demon
who had then pulled the Seraph Warrior to the ground. When the warrior was
pulled down, the surrounding hordes of demons jumped on the fallen warrior.
They engaged in a fury attack on the warrior, with their ferocity they tore
into the warrior’s frame. The warrior was soon into pieces within seconds.
“No!” Lucifer saw the warrior went down. He rushed
over with his trident creating a path and soon he faced the towering demon that
still held a part of the foot. Lucifer in his anger struck the trident into
the demon and called on the flames to engulf the frame. The flames covered the
demon and then it flared out to the nearby demons. The towering demon was
reduced to ashes within seconds alongside the other burned demon.
“Beware my wrath, demons!” Lucifer called out. “I am
the Devil himself.”
“The battle is turning against us,” Lilith called on
Azrael. “Unleash the demons from the Dark Cauldron now.”
Azrael heard her call. One of his findings during
his hidden time was the Dark Cauldron. It was a portal gateway into another
dimension called the Banish Dimension. Unlike Hades, the dimension held the
foul and evil forms that the other dimensions will not accept. He did not find
it but was awarded to him by the Celestial. He had handed it to Mother Lilith.
“Yes, my lady.” Azrael stood next to the cauldron
and then read the ancient verses over it. The hands that were seen inside the
cauldron soon reached out and from it, the frames of more hideous demons soon
climbed out. The first one to climb out was a mass of flames. From the flames,
that snaked to the height above Man, a form was soon forming to a towering
figure with limbs; twice the height of Man. It was a narrow frame demon with
the lengthen upper limbs that reached to the feet, and its head was a rectangle
form with the four sets of eyes on all sides and the gaping double mouthpiece
with the protruding fangs.
“Behold the demon from the Banish!” The demon on its
appearance lashed out with his upper lengthen limbs at Lucifer. The limbs
lengthened to reach Lucifer to grab the trident.
“Unhand your hold, demon.” Lucifer pulled hard at
the trident but it was a battle of strength then. With his trident restraint,
Lucifer was exposed to attacks by the demons. They raged onto Lucifer but
Michael was on hand to defend the other.
“I will watch your back,” Michael told Lucifer but
the former was then confronted by another demon from the Banish Dimension. That
newly arrived demon was a spherical frame of translucent form which the sword
was not able to cut in.
“Retreat!” Michael called out. He then turned his
sword onto the demon in the battle of strength with Lucifer. The sword cut into
the extended limb and severed it at the wrists. Lucifer got his trident back
and retreated with Michael. He was followed by Gabriel.
“We are losing the battle, Michael,” Gabriel
reported in. “The Seraph Warriors are dwindling in the numbers.”
“Back to the Diner,” Michael called out. “We need to
reinforce there.”
In the Diner, Bob saw the three warriors were
retreating to them. He grabbed the nearest gun he could reach. It was the AK
47; one of the few from Percy’s collection. He stepped out and leveled the gun
at the demons. The bullets impacted on the demons and bought some time for the
warriors. Soon he tossed the gun when the bullets ran out. He followed in with
the warriors and close the door.
“The demons are not following in,” Percy told them.
“They are not coming in.”
