Loki Passage 21

5.
Freyr swung his spear like a cudgel at the Sons of Muspell warriors. He kept on hammering them with crazed moves. He was moving towards Sigurd who was battling some warrior. Tyr had used his pick axe to pull the warrior before thrusting the blade in his other hand into the face. Sigurd pulled his sword out and it was then he felt the spear thrust into his back. He turned around to look at the warrior which stabbed him. It was a warrior from Hel. Its face was a maggot eaten expression with one eye sprocket hollowed out. Sigurd was to scream out when a Son of Muspell took his head off with the axe.

Freyr rushed towards his friend but he found his attention focused on the sight of Surtr. He directed his horse towards the leader of Sons of Muspell. He called out to the leader while he slashed his way past the warriors. Freyr was brought down in his ride by a pair of Muspell. He crouched up and looked at the pair who brought down his horse.

“That was a good stallion.” Freyr rushed at the warriors and speared them one after the other. He hurled the dead warriors at the side and faced the flaming Sutr.

“You looked like you need a bath.” Freyr spoke to Surtr. He rushed at the other and then leapt up high to kick at the leader. The leader fell back on the kick but it remained on its feet. Sutr hit back at Freyr with the left arm and then swung its flaming sword. Freyr managed to use the spear to block the sword and then rolled to the rear. He crouched up using the spear to balance himself.

“Surtr, you are a worthy opponent of mine but there are more to me.” With the Freyr pushed himself up at Sutr and swung the spear wide from outside in. His spear was deflected by the later sword, but Freyr used his body to slam into Surtr. Both of them fell back to the rear and Freyr took advantage to land a few elbow blows on the face. Sutr rolled aside and then got up with a crouch to swing his sword out at Freyr. The later managed to evade that by rolling to the far side before he stood up.

“Good sword. I wished I have mine.” Freyr muttered. He regretted giving his sword to Skinir. “But I am not without one myself.”

“You have your spear.” Surtr spoke out. “Use it on me.”

Freyr was one who had the gift to create new weapons. One of it was the sword he had given away, he had created the new spear. His new weapon was the spear; it blasted out a searing cold wave that will turned anything it touches to ice.

“I am never one to deny anyone’s request. Have at thee, you flaming beast.” Freyr directed his spear but Surtr evaded the blast. It countered attack with the sword cutting into Freyr blast and caused an unusual event. It exploded on the contact of the two forces. The explosion caused a massive blowback which blew the warriors back and created a large crater. Fryer picked himself up and saw Sutr still standing there.

“They make you tougher there.” Freyr struggled to get up but found he was wounded. He was hurt in the explosion; his legs were bloodied with the wounds. He looked up to see Sutr rushing at him with the sword held high. The sword came down hard on his left shoulder and tore through his armor.

Freyr lived his name in the event.

Thor was next.
