Mordred 20.1

20.

The Previous Realm

Merlin looked at the assembled before him in the hidden chambers of Azrael. He saw Azrael standing in the circle among the gathered. There was Lilith who had just joined them. There was Fangnir standing by himself at the side. There were others there too which he knew from past battles but they were never captured.

“Lilith you played your role well as an ally of the Serpents.” Azrael smiled. “I had my doubts but you did it so convincing.”

“Keb was difficult to convince but his son Neheb was no real challenge.” Lilith replied while she sauntered over to the side of Azrael. ‘It too Neheb to settle the father and then I was their Goddess.”

Lilith was dressed in full red gown that covered her from neck to her feet with a shroud that was pulled back to reveal her face. She was a beauty with the pointed eye lids and red luscious lips that was shaded in red. Her cheeks were powdered with a thin layer of red shades to give her an impression of the high bones there. Her hair was cropped short to the scalp but it had streaks of red on the sides.

“The Blood Prince was ever suspicious but the Wolf was never one. The later was wild but like creatures of such I had it tamed before my beauty.” Lilith then glared at Merlin. “Merlin, you are a surprise here. I would have expected you dead by now but Azrael told me everything.”

Merlin never battled Lilith before. He only heard of her from the Ancient Books. She was once the lover of Adam but due to the intervention, she was discarded by Adam for another. She had sought revenge against him for that desertion.

“Please,” Azrael cut in. “We are among friends.”

Merlin laughed and then glared at Fangnir. He was to speak when Azrael cut in again.

“I do not want us to dwell on the past. We are going to the future.” With that Azrael waved his hands and a hologram appeared before them. “This is our carriage to the new realm.”
It showed an oblong contraption.

“The carriage will carry thousands of us.” Azrael continued on. “The works was discussed with Merlin but all of you need to cooperate. We have to accommodate each other.”

“Azrael, I have studied the design.” Merlin brought up his concern. “It’s not our level of knowledge to build something like this. They are way beyond our time era and then the power source.”

Merlin held up the powerful artefact which was discovered from a meteor that had crashed on the world years ago. The area was later marked as Meteor End’s. From the meteor, we retrieved seven shards of crystal which emitted energy.

“The energy is unstable.” Merlin voiced out but Azrael brushed him off.

“It will be of use. We have no other option to generate that level of energy.” Azrael looked at Merlin who was still looking concern. “Okay, I hear you. How many ships can we safely hold?”

“I don’t know.” Merlin replied. “I already said we are not prepared for such …energies.”

All that was gathered looked forlorn until Azrael explained his next action.

“Give me the signal if you cannot hold the ships. I will do the needed to save us.” Azrael explained his action.

“Sacrifices must be made. After all in our realm, we are neither friends nor foes, only numbers. When we reached there we will be enforced with more of our own people. Rejoice, my brethren the Fallen will be united once again.”
