Core breached
The explosion resounded loud inside the
cavern. It loudness resonated across the walls on the cavern. With it, it can
be seen the explosion have caused an imbalance in there. I felt the shift of
weight on my body which was unusual in that anti gravity environment. I looked
for the cause and saw that it was the Core Domain which had moved. The
explosion had affected it, and caused a shift in the cavern. So was Daniel
which had lost its cohesion form but it took command of the situation.
I saw the dust there, or were they L
391-1 took off like swarms of hornets into the cracks of the cavern. The most
astonishing sight then was the invasion of the droids. Those were the battle
droids; standing at twelve feet high droids like menacing quarterbacks with
then bend forward stance but instead of menacing biceps, these droid held a
twin set of six barrels roller cannons. They were last seen at the perimeter
but at the cavern, I saw there was about thirty of these units. The droids
descended in rows of five with the cannons firing at the Core Domain. It formed
a concave form in shape with the surface of the Core Domain. They were firing
then on Core Domain surface. The shots ripped into the spikes and rounded discs
there. The Core Domain took to its defenses and twirled in clock wise but it
exposed more of its surfaces to the shots. The streams of wind that released by
the discs was protective but it was no defense against the cannon shots.
The Core Domain went into a spin and
soon a vortex was created to surround it. By then the Core Domain was protected
from the cannon shots. An amazing thing occurred then; it ejected the layer of
damaged discs and spikes. The ejected parts were soon to become metal
projectiles that shot towards the cavern walls. It shot like missiles and hit
some of the droids. The metal missiles tore through the droids that were in its
part; a round break will appeared on the droid, or where it hits the protruding
limbs, they were torn off from its sprocket. I saw one droid had the disc
slammed onto its chest. It flew back to break apart on the wall.
I counted five droids that were caught
by the projectiles.
I missed on piece of the spikes when
Daniel pushed me away. It kept on pushing me till I was against the wall
cavern. By then the remaining droids stopped the firing at the Core
Domain. The unit then became to stop its
whirring and I saw then the next unusual scene. The damaged surfaces were rebuilding
with the remaining surfaces. The good surfaces smoothen over to the damaged
sides like silts on the river mouth. It was covering over the damaged areas
with a new coat of materials. Then new spikes appeared and the some reformed
into discs.
It was alive.
The Core Domain was not any machine but
a living one.
It was not the only living thing there.
From the cracks of the caverns where L
391-1 had taken cover, there were movements. The wall surfaces vibrated and
then long extended stone surface from it. It reached out like branches on the
trees with its base still on the wall. Each branch was about five inches in
radius and tapered with the larger base at about triple its dimensions as if it
was compensating for the length reach. It was everywhere like sprouting roots. The
branches reached out across the caverns towards the Core Domain.
The branch of stone was not without its
ability to defend.
One of the branches had struck at one of
the droids. It did not spear it but exploded on impact. The stony branch spread
out all over the droid and soon covered all of it. Without warning, it crushed
the droid within the shell of stone. The droids explosive components went off
but the shell of stone held the explosion inside.
Seven more droids went down like that.
The other eighteen droids then regrouped and flew upwards, breaking the stone
branches in its part. The broken stone branches resumed the growth from where
it had cracked. It reached the Core Domain and then it sunk into the surface.
The Core Domain then was seen to grow on its surface as if it was fed by the
branches of stones.
Or dusts.
