Trojan War Chapter 31

The war starts

31.

Half the fleet of the other worlds arrived at the Archaeon space to provide their support. It was a massive display of ships with each world design different and with a different array of weapons.

The Archaeon despite the last battle lost, still held a huge number of ships; ten motherships, and twenty-five destroyers, fifty frigates, and a thousand stealth fighters. The same was with Argos, Babylon, and the Macedonian. The Dardanes, Cretan, Phoenicia, Carthaginian, Parthians, and Barbicans held half those numbers.

The Archaeon ships were designed in the round disc, while the Argos was huge oblong in design, and the Macedonian looked like a huge cube in space. The Dardanes, Cretans, and Phoenicia resembled the preying flying predator with the wide wings and sloping front hull, and the Carthaginian was the leaping creature with the two forth ends that protruded at the front, and its hull was a snarling creature with the array of cannons mounted at the below hull. The Parthians and the Barbicans had their designs in the shape of an inverted ‘U’ in design while the Spartans were their reveled ‘V’ design in the vertical shape. The Spartans when in battle will invert the shape with the ‘V’ facing to the rear and its stealth fighters will emerge by the swarms from the rear base of the ship.

It was the Trojan that held the ‘T’ design like a hammer on impact. The front of the wide ‘T’ design held the main shield and cannons. It was reported the Trojan held four motherships, five destroyers, and twenty frigates including the Chariots.

“The fleets need to be combined and place under one commander.” King Tyndareus looked at the gathered. “I may suggest….. King Menelaus.”

“King Menelaus lost his frigates in the last battle.” Ajax the Great reminded the gathered. “His …”

“I was beaten then but I am not defeated as yet.” King Menelaus looked at the Telamon leader. “The Telamon is not among the worlds invited….”

“I am not but the invite came from Odysseus to assist him. I can leave if I am not wanted.” Ajax the Great turned but was stopped by Odysseus who was there.

“Ajax, do not leave. We are here to battle Troy and not among ourselves.” Odysseus voiced out. “King Menelaus was ..... he was battled then but he was not given the intel on the new weapon of the Trojan. Ajax had done us some help there. He was to have the missing intel on the weapon.”

“Indeed we do. The weapon that Troy had developed was new, and it had remained hidden from all of us due to the truce treaty we are all bounded to the courtesy of the Olympians.” Ajax the Great reported then. “It’s a new metal that was incorporated into their power core and it strengthened their shields on the planets. Their projectiles were also modified with it and its impact was doubled or tripled.”

“However, the amount of the metal is limited, and not all the planets in the Troy worlds are equipped. We cannot battle them on those which were reinforced but we can take on the others.” Ajax continued.

“What about those which are reinforced?” King Menelaus asked.

“There are other ways to battle there. We can send in the warriors by stealth and battled them on the surface. The casualties may be high but it’s the best way.” Ajax the Great replied.

“What of the Olympians?” King Menelaus asked.

“They won’t be seen to help.” Odysseus took the reply. “But they will get involved for the cause of this war was created by them.”

“Paris is the herdsman and friend of Ares. He won’t let Paris be humiliated. I knew Ares that well.” It was Achilles who said that. “Ares is too proud to let go of such an opportunity here. He wanted war and now he is getting it.”

“Surely, Zeus who professed peace among us will stop him.” King Menelaus cut in.

“Zeus may do it but he also has seen us grow in peacetime. He may use this war as an excuse to weaken us.” Achilles said.

“Why are all you keen on this war?” King Tyndareus spoke out. “I asked all of you take an oath was to maintain peace with whoever took my daughter and now….”

“King Tyndareus, your daughter was to be mine, and yet she was taken away. I am calling on our oath to get her back.” King Menelaus got agitated. “The Trojans were never to be trusted. This war will punish them for it.”

“Enough of the talks on the preparation for war. I will lead the combined fleet.” Achilles staked his claim. “Who will challenge me for it?”

No one gathered there dare to challenge Achilles.

“So be it. Let us look at the world of planets of Troy worlds.” Achilles called up the hologram that showed the array of planets. “The inner five planets represent the main worlds of Troy and there are nine others outside the inner ring that are allied to Troy also known as outposts. I will suggest we take those so-called outposts first.”

“What of the Frontier?” Ajax the Lesser who had remained silent till then.

“They are always enemies. Any Frontier ships seen will be destroyed or taken over.” Achilles voiced out. The call for the rout of the Outposts was made.
