02:30hrs Day One past at Killrock 1.4

1.          Maintenance Level

Basilus rounded up the squad and told them of the primary task; they are to locate and retrieve a black box brought in by the freighter FC Odin. It could had been stored in the lower second level at what was considered as the Maintenance Store. He took Mira and Marc with him to the lower level at the Storage. They jumped down onto the rubble at the bottom of the level, and slowly descend down. The light that was earlier seen by Micheal was the lights from a Loading Vehicle. The lights now not shinning into the tunnel soon light up a section of the Storage Area. There are crates and drums which are all scattered in the area with their contents revealed the contents.

"Leader, how are we find a box in this area?" Mira point to the scattered contents. Basilus ignored her and continue looking, He was using the sensor on his left greave to picked up the signal. The program was sent to him just before they embarked here.

"It below us." Basilus point to the next level below. "Find the entrance."

The trio looked around and soon find the entrance hidden behind some crates. They made their way down the stairs and soon was confronted by armed Militia. There were seven of them; armed with assorted of rifles and looking battered.

"Are you all Rangers?" Sergeant at Arms Rashid asked.

2.          Rangers Armored Attack

Colonel Jahangir stood up on the top turret of the CT which he had assumed command pending the arrival of his Juggernaut. He had mobilized all his tanks except the Witch which was still under repair. He choose to take on the Settlement first. He had two of the CT fire a series of salvo on the Settlement to shake up the Draconian. He then stood there on the CT as the infantry moved in for close quarter combat. The armored commander moved his CT towards the Production Lines. Jahangir disliked static subjects; he likes the subject to fight back.

As the tanks trooped out, the Colonel could not help to look back at the Infantry moving towards the Settlement. He was ever hopeful that the Draconian would come with Vampires or something like that. That would be an even leveled field for this tanks. There was a comms from the lead tank which brought him back from his thoughts.

"Colonel, we have Vampires."

Vampires? Intel told him that they had wiped out the Vampires but now he is seeing ten Vampires. So the Troop Carrier have actually a full load of fifteen Vampires. They wiped out four and here are ten more.

"CT, get into battle formation." The commanders of the CT replied back as they come up from the rear to make up two rows in a forward zig zag formation so that no tanker would fired on its own mates. Jahangir than wished he had his Juggernaut. He felt safer in that tank. He did a silent prayer to himself.

"Sir, can I have my command back?" Senior Tanker McKenzie asked the Colonel. He was not keen to have his tank hijacked by the Colonel. "The Prime have landed."

The Prime was Jahangir's Juggernaut Tank.

"Mac, bring them home." Colonel Jahangir climbed out and comms for a ride. He stood there to see the CT moved on without him.

"Virgin, you and Cabot onto me." Duncan likes Mac and Cabot' commander, Luisa. She was also his lover, and build like a tank. She's one tough lady and her crews are all women.

"Bravo, take your team to the left." That would be other CT section named the Bravo boys' which included Tango, Alpha and Zero. They all graduated in the same year and survived over ten battles.

"Custer, take your calvary to the right." Leader of the remaining tank section, Senior Tanker Custer always boast of when his section goes down; it would against over whelming odds. The Custer team consist of Grant, Lee, and Longstreet.

"We are going do a trident strategy."

3.          Trident Strategy

Poppins lined up with Virgin and Cabot in a row as the others veered off. Custer section took formation in a column on the right side at half a kilometer while Bravo section was on the left dat about the same distance.

The Vampires took on a crescent formation and started off the first salvo with Fangs fired. Duncan called on the cannisters to be released but he asked for double cannister to be released. He was not taking a chance with it. He also gave a new order; HESH followed by APDS from Custer and Bravo.

The Fangs failed to detonate on the double shield and then the Poppins formation laid their HESH on the Vampires. The thermal projectiles exploded on contact and the effect was a white streak across the viewers of all the Vampires due to the longer distance.

Custer and Bravo now firing the APDS projectile came in with dead accuracy on the tracks or the space between the turret and hull. Two Vampires lost their turrets and one more lost their tracks. Then the second salvo came and hit two more Vampires but they survived the blasts when the shots just hit their sides.

The vampires replied with their APDS, with two tanks focusing on one tank each. Longstreet and Cabot got direct hits by Five Vampires. Poppins got it on top turret while its left tracks were blown off before the last shot blasted the magazine. Duncan and his crew did not feel anything before they died. Cabot got the main guns blown off with its top turret partially pulled apart. The crews of Cabot also died from the explosion.

Crazy Mac took over command and recalled the others to formed up.

"CT, we are going to fight like tanks." The surviving nine tanks moved into two rows facing the seven Vampire Tanks now halted in the field. Just before Mac could give the commands, he heard the loud gun blast.

It was the Juggernaut; the tank killer twice the size of the CT with a rectangle hull and wilder double independent turret. The main turret sits on the hull carries a 180 mm Apache rifled gun. This gun's projectiles and charges are loaded separately, as opposed to a single fixed round. The charges were encased in an autoloader holding over fifty rounds; twenty which are high explosive squash head (HESH), and the rest armour-piercing discarding sabot (APDS). The upper turret house the double shorter smaller 60mm Cochise rifled gun with its its double high explosive squash head (HESH) with half the force. Those guns carry twenty each in the turret and thirty more spare in the Hull. All the guns are fully stabilized with a fully computerized integrated control system. The secondary armament consisted of the mini rotary guns are mounted on the sponson on each side of the hull with an additional double rotary guns set in the forefront of the hull operated by the driver by thumb trigger. The top cupola on the double turret was the double rotary gun mounted for the commander to use.

The 180mm Apache gun have a longer distance and doubled the firepower. The projectile from the Juggernaut hit the Vampire in the left tracks but the whole tank went up in pieces in the explosion when the projectile penetrated the hull from below.

Parts of it hit the nearby Vampire with a molten piece buried in the right tracks causing it to lose steering control.

The remaining five Vampires reversed and tried to retreat but the CT's were firing at them. In the retreat one more Vampire got its track hit and stalled on the field. The remaining four Vampires went out in reverse in full speed. They bypass the Production Lines and went off into the open lands.

Crazy Mac got the comms from the Colonel.

"Who's in charge?" Colonel Jahangir was upset. He can see the two wrecked CT there.

"Crazy Mac." The Senior Tanker replied.

"Well, carry on. Deploy in a defensive line before the Production Line." The Colonel have given his new order.
