 Six Months to this day

1200hrs
‘The New Governor of the island is taking his oath today as the tenth Governor of the Island, a succession of Governors’ since the Independence. The new Governor is no stranger to us as he was the previous President of the Island Nation, and today on his semi retirement plans has decided to be the newly elected Governor. Once he inks the declaration in a few more minutes, he will be the next coming Governor. There he is; ladies and gentleman disembarking from his car, the man himself. Mr Robert Loman; ex-President of the Island Nation, successful businessman and would be millionaire himself is walking into the Governor Office building. You can see the staff and dignitaries all assembled here to wished the New Governor a nice and peaceful period of Goverment on this turbulent island. More to it by our main correspondent Tim Curry. Tim, this is Angela. What is your comment on the island now that we are getting a new Governor.’
‘The island has seen some turbulent times in the last months since the cancelled Presidential visit then. We had reports of shootouts and gang fights, in which the President then, cancelled his trip over here before his retirement. The President then pledged to restore law and order here in the Island, and he did just that. He has managed to exercise major changes in the days before he stepped down; sweeping laws and reforms to clear the island over the three months after his cancelled trip. Major crime lords were detained and charged in the new justice court and were swiftly sentenced from five to fifteen years of jail terms. It was his effort that made this island safe and sound today. Tim Curry, Senior Editor of ‘we bring you the news on time.’
Unseen by the media and known to the common people, three hundred members of the associated crime gangs were rounded up and deported to the penal system, although only fifty was convicted but the rest held under emergency acts. It did clean the dirts off the street but it brought in new scumbags with the support of a new leader. Pedri ‘Padre Man’ Perrier is the man to talk to, as he controls everything from A to Z on the illegal business, but he also runs a successful trading company in mining metals. He goes to work in a convoy of SUV with six guards and two support staff to carry his briefcase and laptop. He reports for work at 1000hrs and leaves at 1700hrs for the daily golf game, although he does not understand the rudimentary rules of golfing. But his guards do; he plays and you sit by the side. His child studies at the International School, and his wife shops at the local grocery store as she is divorced from him. But some inner circle people know his real work is to just to report for work and go home. All the other parts of his works are made by a panel of professionals who manages the trade including the illegal ones. The real boss behind all of this is the coming newly elected Governor, Robert Loman.
And Mr Loman will not be staying at the Elite Garden; he is too humble to be associated with the elites. He is staying at the newly refurbished mansion of the previous Mr Chiang Men’s estate. On that fifty acres of land, he has built a small township for his staff and supporter. There are now twenty blocks of twenty five unit apartments there with a shopping gallery and sporting center. It's called the Grove, for its groovy to be associated with the Governor.
Incidentally, the journalist who made this report was never seen after his publication. So the above is mere speculation as denied by Mr Robert Loman and officially defended as personal character assassination of an honest man.
