Legion Resurrected Chapter 18

18.

Lucifer
The weeks have passed since Lucifer left Charlie at the Diner but his days were fraught with battles against the Seraph Warriors who were hunting him. He knew not why, but the warriors were on alert for him.
“Done.” Lucifer drew out his right hand from the throat of the Seraph Warrior. He had sensed the warrior trailing him in the city and led the direction to an open area behind the buildings. There he confronted the warrior and the battle was brief with the warrior dead by Lucifer’s blows. The final blow was the finger punch into the throat which choked the warrior. His punch pierced the flesh and into the bone where he blocked the air passage.
“I am sorry, Tiberius. It was me or you.” Lucifer knew the other who had hunted him. They were once brothers but with the war, they have become enemies. He looked to the side and saw the encroaching demons. They have waited at the side whenever he battled. These were not his demons from Hades but of the Hidden Dimension. He had been seeing them soon after his meeting with the Celestials.
“You will not feed on this form. This I command.” Lucifer stepped back and then his trident appeared. He leveled the trident on the dead Angel and fired the blue flame to engulf it. Soon the flames had reduced the form into cinders. The demons deprived of their feed grumbled their ill feelings but they dare not attack the Fallen Leader.
“They are disgusted with you.” The voice of Lilith was heard. Lucifer turned to look at the newly arrived lover of his. They had rekindled their feelings during the war, and even when Lucifer was banished to Hades. Lucifer reached out to Lilith.
“Where were you? I could not locate you.” Lucifer landed a kiss on the lady.
“I was preoccupied. I was assigned many tasks and that took time for me complete. I came here when I heard that you were looking for a child.” Lucifer heard the other and then looked away. His trust with her had never been complete after her betrayal on him. “What child?”
“Huh…. What child?” Lucifer asked back. He knew Lilith was playing him for a fool. She will know of the child.
“I heard you were looking for a child.” Lilith lowered her tone.
“You are mistaken. I was not.” Lucifer replied. “Why would I be? Was it something I missed out? Who told you?”
A series of questions directed back to Lilith who decided to remain silent. She then turned the subject matter.
“Are you still mad at me with Adam?”
“No, why should I be?” Lucifer chuckled. “It’s a long time ago. Now I need to go. Would you want to stay?”
Lilith declined to stay. She had sensed the refusal by Lucifer to answer her. She served a different Master then. And the command was to trail Lucifer to the child.
And removed him if needed.
The signs of change were there, and she was to take sides.
The winning side this time.

Survivals
“Join hands, brothers, and sister of Moth. We need to call on the portal. The Angel cannot call on Atlantis anymore and only we can do it. We will do it the ancient way.” Bob motioned to the others. Percy with his chest bandaged but he was able to walk. He joined Bob and then looked to the others.
“The more of us the better chance of getting to Atlantis.” Percy called out to the others. He was looking from Jeep to Audrey and then Kyle.
“You are mad. All of you are mad.” Kyle snapped out of the delusion that he felt was there. It was all a delusion; the killing and the child.
“The child….” Kyle looked at the child in the mother’s hands. “They want the child.”
“Oh, God. You are mad. I am not giving them the child.” Charlie held onto the child. “She is mine.”
“If she was like us, why had it not cried for your milk since birth? Why does it remain quiet when we are in chaos? Tell me, lady. Is that child his?” Kyle motioned to Lucifer. “He is the Devil. He has horns on his forehead.”
The horns have appeared on the forehead during the battle. It was Lucifer’s mark of wrath.
“I am the Devil Just as he is Michael the Angel. And that is Gabriel. We are all here in person. We came here together because of the child.” Lucifer looked at Kyle. “We would not have if it was any child. That child could be the new balance to the Gods.  The new ones and the older ones.”
“More madness.” Kyle snarled away. “Let me out.”
Kyle approached the doorway and was stopped by Percy.
“Son…” Percy looked at Kyle. “Believe in us.”
Kyle shook his head. He was all confused. It was Audrey who makes it worse.
“I do. I will …. join hands.” Audrey stepped towards Bob. “I just want to …. help.”
“Audrey….” Kyle was disbelieving at the lady’s change of tone. “You can’t be with the madness.”
“Madness? All that had happened here was madness. My parents killed before my eyes. Demons in the killing. And Angels. And more ….” Audrey broke down. She looked at Bob. “You will tell me I am not really mad.”
“Thank you.” Bob then looked at Jeep. “Help us. At worse for the child.”
Jeep looked at Bob. That man was regarded as his father. He had never objected to anything Bob asked. But Bob was not his father; not since the revelations of them being Moth. He looked at Charlie. She was the only real thing there. She was Charlie.
“Stop it!” Kyle called out. It was then Bob lashed out with his right fist at Kyle. “You have been the pain among us.”
“Because I don’t believe in this madness.” Kyle snapped back soon after he was floored by Bob. “I …”
“Then for the sake of this madness, believe it.” Bob hit back. “Now will you do it.”
Kyle stood up and joined the others. Bob looked to the Angels.
“This is not for you. Only we and the Child can be there.” With that Bob led the chant of the ancient verses. Michael saw the twirl of lights that surrounded the group and then the light turned to a swirl of fog before the group was enveloped by it. Then the loud gong sound was heard and the fog dissipated.
The group was still there but another stood in the middle of the group. It was a young lady with a fan spread headgear and the edge of it were the sharp points that reached high above the head. She was dressed in a dark tight bodysuit with the spear and rounded shield. The sword was in the scabbard at the waist belt. The lady had on the laced straps on her shin with the sandals and on her wrists were the golden band that covered her to below the elbows. On the back of the lady suit, a series of eight angled spokes was seen reaching out like spider limbs with the serrated points.
“It can’t be. The chant was …” Bob was stunned.
“Oh, mother of Gods. How did you hail her?” Michael cried out.
“I guess you made out the wrong invitation,” Lucifer muttered.
“I am Hippolyta of the Amazon. I am summoned by Legion.” The newly arrived Goddess replied. “She is the child of the Amazon.”
It was then the demons crashed into the Diner.
