The Planet 10.1

10.

10.1 Core Domain

The one thing you will felt at the Core Domain was it was near to freezing in the temperature zone. I was freezing then despite my uniform. I felt my construct parts were also getting cranky in the movements. The dust must had sensed my predicament and formed a layer over my body. It was one time I did not feel being dusty was a bane to my looks. The ball of dusts that led me there hovered before me.

“Hello once again, John. We are Daniel.” The ball voiced out. I knew it was crazy trying to communicate with a ‘dust’ ball but it sounded intelligent to me then.

“This is the Core Domain.” Daniel the ball explained. “L 391 will not come in here. We build this to be our base and L 391 will not come near here. The place is surrounded by the same material that was in the barrier.”

Daniel was motioning to the large orb that was hovering in the center on the cavern. It looked like an orange ball with streams of winds that was traversing the orb. I looked hard at it and noticed it was actually a large machine with a number of spikes and rounded discs on it. The steams of winds were actually static energies released by the discs and it was bouncing off the surface.

“The Core Domain is not a machine. It’s a living being like us. It’s the Core Domain, the being that created us.” I shook my head at the revelation by Daniel. “The Core Domain was the first of us, and it created us all. The Core Doman was it.”

Daniel motioned back to the orb.

“You are confused. The Core Domain was the primary. They were different and somehow like us, they ruled several galaxies before they extinguished.” Daniel looked at the orb. “They were us before we were created. The Core Domain was the last of its race but it soon created us.”

“Lonely or renewing the race with minute versions?” I asked. I saw Daniel looked agitated when I poke at its creation.

“We don’t know what and why, but we were the new creation. Like Core Domain, we became them. We conquer the others and then we evolved. The Core Domain saw it in L 391 and told them to stop. L 391did not and continued on.

When the Core Domain fought back, they imprisoned the Core Domain here on this rock. Core Domain was kept in isolation but L 391 was its creation. The Core Domain then went into a state ….in the words of Earthling, self improvement. In that process, it managed to turn some of the L 391 and naming them L 391-1. That took a number of years in Earth’s relevance in time. L 391-1 grew in geometric strength but they were not able to defeat L 391. We lack the numbers.”

“It was then the Core Domain made the drastic decision to cause an evolution on L 391-1. It made us developed the barrier. That allowed us to overrun L 391 here but we were immune to the effect. From here, the Core Domain organized the rebellion that was soon to overthrow L 391 across the galaxies. We were winning then and for the L 391 which survived the rebellion were brought here to be imprisoned.”

“So you reversed the prison to keep L 391 here?” I voiced out. “What about the barrier?”

“You knew from L 391, the barrier was created to prevent L 391 from escaping. They have been persistent in their efforts even when imprisoned. They fought us several times and every time we pushed them back, they went into rebuilding. L 391 had also evolved; they could propagate with larger numbers than us. More to that, L 391-1 when we undergone the evolution, we lost on the ability to propagate.  L 391 grew while we dwindled.”

“We will not give up and preserved the wish of Core Domain.” Daniel went on without a pause. “We lost more of our kind as wardens here. L 391 terminated the ones of ours when they were conflicts. We held ourselves well, and defended the barrier until your machine attempted to break the barrier. We were not prepared for it. It gave L 391 the means to escape but they could not. The barrier was breached but the means to escape was not there.”

“L 391 may have been played out there by Kingsley but we did not have prior information of any crafts for them to leave. Maybe they thought the old crafts of ours were still here but we destroyed all of it eons ago and self exiled here. It was Core Domain’s command. When L 391 realized they were stranded here, they decided to search the plant of yours for the mean. They accessed the systems and try to fashion the parts for a ship but they could not do it. In the process, they may have damaged your machineries.” Daniel sighed. “We did not stop them but to what L 391 told you, we were few in the numbers. However, we strategize the needed action for the possibilities. It was considered that the plant inactivated then help will come.”

“So we planned our access to the sections in the planet. It had to be stealth for we were no more the wardens but the enemy once more. With our numbers few, we deployed our strategies and that include changing our appearance to match the L 391. Those battles which you have witnessed were our hidden armies among the L 391. They were kept if I may quote; inert until they were called to battle. They fought for your escape.” Daniel could see that I was confused. “Those funnels of dusts you saw and the bursting of cables or pipes. They were the few of our numbers but it was needed to protect you.”

“To protect me? Why?” I asked back.
