Devils Own ( Steampunk and Mystic ) 3.6

3.6

Kassius stepped onto the deck to join the captain. He was offered a spy glass to look at the new design that was on their steam vapor trail. He was trying to spot the new frigate.

“She is a new design.” Captain Amos explained to Kassius. “She has a wider hull with a dual balloon but her real firepower was the same as ours. We hold a double twelve pounder but the Thor held a twelve pounder with their new projectile. They are a bastard with their projectile they name the Sabot. The projectile had two sections, the outer ring which will break off on impact to release the inner ring which was the real explosives. They got the formula enhanced on the explosive, and it’s more deadly with its mini steel balls. Each explosive holds a hundred of those steel balls.”

“We can’t fight them now. Not with our bruised body.” Captain Amos looked to the First Mate. “Tell the crew to abandon ship. They got ten minutes to jump chutes.”

“Captain, we will not leave the ship without you.” The First Mate refused the order.

“First Mate that is my order. And if I recalled, I am still the Captain.” Captain Amos shouted at this First Mate.

“Aye, Captain but we are the crew of the Attila.” The First Mate argued back. He then pleaded the case.

“Amos, I had known you for years.” The First Mate spoke out. “Melvin and I sailed with you for over ten years. We been through Hell and back, and now you are ditching us because you want to go down with the Attila.”

“Screw you, Amos. We had nursed her back from more wounds than even all three of us combined.” The First Mate argued on. “The Attila is ~”

“Okay, you made your point. We will fight this Thor together.” Captain Amos voiced out. But Kassius cut in on a new plan. They discussed it and then the First Mate ran off to carry out the new order.

“I hoped it will work.” Captain Amos muttered to himself, while Kassius took off to prepare for his part.

The Thor design ship sailed parallel to the Attila, with its twelve cannons on the portside aimed at it. The crews of the Thor saw no movement on the deck, except for some dead bodies; lain over the deck and some were hanging onto the riggings. The cannons hatches were drawn shut or in some sections damaged by the previous battles, there were no activities. The Attila was already a wrecked from the barrage but then it gave out an eerie feel to the Thor’ crew.

It was a prized catch for the Thor Captain on his inaugural voyage. It was also a gamble with his command; he could be led into a trap.

“Send over the troopers.” The captain of the Thor gave the command. The crews of the Thor propel the three clawed hooks towards the Attila. They had them propelled using the basic sling like the mini catapult. Once the claws hooked on, they will drag on the rope using the pulleys affixed to the deck to pull the two ships closer. Once a distance of over fifty feet, the crews will monkey climbed across holding a net which they draped over the two hulls creating a safety net for the troopers to crawl on. The earlier set of ten Thor’ crew who were the first to climb over took liberty of their independence to explore.

“Carlos, I see a ring. He looked like the First Mate.” The sailor ran to the bloodied body lain on the side. He crouched down to grab the left hand and found it warm. He was to shout the alarm when he saw the pistol at his crotch.

“Lose your mouth and I lose your crotch for you.” The First Mate smiled at the Thor crew with his right hand holding the pistol.

“Screw you, Pedro. I saw that ring first.” The other crew rushed over to claim ownership but he got trip by an extended leg. He turned to look at what had caused him to fall, and saw the pistol aimed at his face. It was held by another Attila crew who was smiling.

The ten crews soon found themselves held at gun point while more of the Attila crews emerged from below deck to stick by the deck walls. They could hear the troopers heaving while struggling to climb over the net. To the dirigible crews climbing on ropes and nets was a pastime game for them. The twenty troopers climbed onto the deck to find themselves covered by the ten Attila crews with pistols.

“Drop those guns and smile, troopers.” Captain Amos was among those the ten crews at the deck wall. He then heard the sound of the Eagle as it dived down onto the deck of the Thor ship. Kassius had slipped off earlier and stay hidden in the clouds. He saw the troopers had been subdued before he came diving in. He fired off his machine gun at the helm to remove the commanding officers. By then the other crew members of the Attila had sprung to life and taken on the machine guns on the deck to shoot across, while some climbed over. Five of the ten crews held back to keep an eye on the captured troopers.

Within minutes, the Attila crews were over the net and onto the deck. By then the crews of the Thor ship had surrendered. Their officers were dead or wounded and most of the crews were young and inexperienced.

“We have done it.” Captain Amos smiled. He then looked at the new deck and smiled.

“To the new Attila.”

Kassius smiled at the Captain who had brought the Guild survivors over to a secluded bay on one of the smaller islands in Islands Kingdom. After they had overtaken the Thor design ship, they had collected the survivors near the bay, and brought them to safety on the islands. They bid their farewell to the Attila but Kassius, Lucas and Irina had another journey to move on.

Devils Own ( Steampunk and Mystic ) 3.5

3.5

Kassius’ Eagle could not fly as there was maintenance to prepare it. He stood there while the crews went about it, and the Attila then had gone into battle. The open ramp door was closed for fear of a projectile hitting the inside of the lower deck. He waited and undergone all those barrages that were dropped on the Attila. The crews went about their preparation despite the barrages.

“Flyer, we got the Eagle ready, but she had no bombs.” The crew member told him. He looked to the clawed hooks and shrugged his shoulders. He gunned up the steam engine, and then the crew lowered the ramp. They pull off the blocks which held the Eagle on the deck. The Eagle taxied down the deck and it went plummeting down.

“Wowee!” Kassius shouted as the Eagle went diving down. He had taken off but the steam engine had stalled. He had no choice but to extend out the wings. It worked and the Eagle went gliding in a slower descent, but he had controlled. He pulled at the plunger which was connected to the steam engine. It kicked in but the steam engine remained dead. He pulled at it several times, and finally it kicked in but it will take time to get the steam up to power the propeller.

It was then the Pegasus approached by firing at the portside.

“Damn!” Kassius swerved the Eagle into a tight turn and then spin into a dive. He wanted to build speed for his next move, which was to back spin into a climb. The Pegasus saw his descent and followed suit, but it misjudged the next move. The Pegasus saw the Eagle spin to glide up and it went into a counter move of a barrel spin to give it avoid it. It was a good move, as the Eagle was caught in the vortex of the barrel. Before Kassius could react, the Pegasus had cleared his fore. By then the Eagle engine had kicked in and the propellers were working. It was time to counter the moves by the Pegasus. Both flyers went to a wider turn to move their flying contraption into position. It was a confrontational approach then when both flyers decide to call each other lies.

The Pegasus took the first cue to fire the machine guns at the Eagle. Kassius did the same with his gun. He could see the tracers of the bullets that were approaching the Eagle but it did little damage to the wings. At the last hundred feet, the Eagle pulled away to the portside. When the Eagle had pulled away, Kassius had released the triple claw hook on its chain. He had also unlocked it so that the hundred feet chain was on a free fall. It went swinging in the sky towards the Pegasus. The chain got tangled into the wings and part of it hit the propeller. That caused the Pegasus to stall and went into a barrel dive.

“One down!” Kassius shouted out but the Pegasus was not alone. There was another Pegasus on overhead prowl for the same prey. It saw the first Pegasus went down and the flyers on the other Pegasus dived down with its gun shooting. Those bullets ripped into the Eagle wings and tore sections of it. Kassius then swerved off to seek cloud cover. The Eagle made it and hid itself in the clouds while the Pegasus in its pursuit also leveled at the clouds. It was to be a game of hide and seek while both flyers seek each other out.

At one stage, the Pegasus flyers saw the Eagle below their starboard at a distance of a hundred and fifty feet. The gunner flyer could not traverse the mounted machine gun. Instead he took up the rifle from beneath his seat to fire. The shots hit the Eagle’ propeller but it was not damaged. The Eagle picked up speed and dived into a nearby cloud for cover. The Pegasus gave chase but it missed the Eagle on the predicted flight path.

Then the surprise appeared before the Pegasus.

It saw the Eagle in its flight path and three hundred feet. It stepped on the pedals to increase the steam power, and sped towards it. It was approaching the Eagle on its stern, when it noticed the larger hull holding speed next to it at a hundred feet.

It was the Attila.

The four cannons on the Attila roared to life aimed at the Pegasus.

The combined firepower shredded the Pegasus in its flight. When the other ships saw the Pegasus went down, the klaxon for retreat was blown.

The Free Traders had won the battle.

The Attila landed on the plains where the Eagle had landed earlier. Kassius approached the dirigible and was given a hero’s welcome. While he met the captain, the other crews got off and pushed the Eagle back to the hull of the Attila.

“Don’t you concern yourself on that?” Captain Amos smiled. “We will get more pilots for her. And more of her type to fight the enemy.”

“Captain, we need to leave.” The First Mate called out from the helm. “We got a ship coming in with the sun behind them. I think it’s the new Thor’ design.”

Captain Amos signaled the immediate evacuation but he turned to Kassius.

“The Guild members will have to go on their own from here. I cannot take them with me anymore.” Captain Amos spoke up. “It’s too dangerous for all of you to be on aboard. More to it, you are five miles from the bay. There is a sea port. Get a ship and you could sailed over to the Islands.”

The words were given out and the Guild members all evacuated from the Attila. The wounded was also evacuated along side with supplies and weapons. Then the Attila took off to the sky. They set off with Irina leading them but Kassius was not with them. He was still on the Attila.

Devils Own ( Steampunk and Mystic ) 3.3B

“Dreadnaught ahead!” Captain Schneider heard the call.

“Give me full speed towards it.” The captain shouted his order. He then ran along the deck towards the staircase that will take it down to the lower decks. There used to be a door there but it must have been ripped off to cover some exposed section. His carpenter crews are one of the best, and they could rig or mend up any sinking hull to make it afloat. He went from there to the partition off compartment of his deck. He pushed open the doorway and walked in. There was an inner compartment there where he donned on the overall, with the netting head gear. There was another doorway which he was to enter, and met his personal aides there bagging the inhabitants of his care. The aides were dressed like him with the netting head piece. They were moving out the stacked up metal cases on the roller trolley.

“Are they ready?” Captain Schneider asked.

“More than ever, Captain.” The aide replied. “They are agitated.”

“Well then move them out and packed them for the firing.” Captain Amos gave the command which his aides moved the crates from that compartment. In the crates, were metal casing with the latch attached. The metal casings were the size of a large ball; twice the size of a man’ hand. The aides unlatched the lock but kept it closed before they loaded metal casing into howitzer.

“Fire at will!” Captain Schneider shouted out. The gunners fired the howitzers and then loaded in the next metal casings. Those were his secret weapon; agitate hornets collected from his farm where he reared them for honey. He had just lobbed over his secret weapon towards the dreadnaught deck. The metal case with the locks removed will split open on impact thus releasing his agitated companions.

“I’ll be darned if those bastards did not get stung.” Captain Schneider braced himself on the helm when his ship took another hit. “Bleed my ship, and you will pay with blood.”

Captain Schneider looked through his spy glass and saw the metal casing reached the deck of the dreadnaught. The hornets had been kept in captivity for hours flew out and took their sting on the sailors there. The sailors did not stand a chance against those hornets which buzzed by them and created havoc. Some of the sailors jumped overboard to avoid being stung. Others tried to out run the hornets but some smarter ones actually used the open flames to deter the hornets. During the hornet’ invasion then, the dreadnaught cannons went silent.

“Fire on the dreadnaught riggings!” Captain Schneider gave the command while his ship cannons roared with vengeance. The dreadnaught had seen enough for the battle and decided to retreat.

“Captain, they have taken a beating. They are retreating. So must ourselves if we are to survive another attack.” First Mate Marie Daniela spoke up. Captain Schneider looked to his own deck and saw the extensive damages. He nodded to the crews to sail from the battle field. He then got the Third Mate to signal the Attila that they had done their part.

Crusaders III: The New Age 1.26

Prologue 3

Father Andrew pulled back at his hood on the frock he wore before he entered the shady looking drinking establishment. The frock of his was plain but covered with thick layers of dirt from his travels through the war devastated land, also hid his other garbs of the Faith inside. The journey he took was deemed to be 'plagued' by 'mis-trusts' and mis-fits, therefore he was sanctioned to counter any threat with any means possible. He was not any priest of the Faith, but a former trained servicemen, and therefore he carried some of this tools with him, modified to protect him from the darker foes.

But no foes were more deadly than the inhalation of the smell of liquor, and distilled brewed drinks. He pulled again at his nose for during his earlier days, he had been a participant on the consumption of these drinks in questionable amounts. And with that, more questionable events that made him took the oath to serve the Faith. It was for the Faith he had taken this journey.

Father Andrew walked up to the bar counter, with stealth movements avoided the other patrons indulging in their own drinking or gambling sessions. He placed on the counter, gold sovereign; rarely seen in these establishments, unless they are part of grand loot.

"I seek a drink of water and some information on the whereabouts of one named Samuel Worthins." Father Andrew covered the gold sovereign with his hand over it. A shiny piece like that attracts too much attention. The bartender glared at the man standing there before his counter offering him that gold piece. He was to reply when the drunkard down the counter rushed over.

"I could tell you...." The drunkard was shut off with a blow on the back of the head by a burly looking man who smells of the illicit drink. The burly man pushed the drunk off the counter and stood by the priest.

"I never reckon you would find me here, Father." The burly man spoke up. He was dressed in the ragged uniform of some smaller nations in Euro. They were overrun by some other nations and had been declared an extended state of the victor. Despite the mis-fortune of the nation, the man was armed with a sidearm and a dagger in his right boot.

"Sam Worthins, Father." The burly man introduced himself. "Formerly of the Monastery...."

Father Andrew pulled the burly man to the far corner where there was a table. They sat down and faced the crowd still going about their activities.

"I need you to come with me, to rescue a special child. He is in the care of the Monastery which may be under attack soon." Just as Father Andrew told the other, he saw the new arrival. He was dressed in the dark cloak and had a hood over his head. He stepped in and pulled the hood, to reveal the scarred face. Among the patrons of the establishment, another dozen stood up and revealed their true self; the Vampire fangs.

"Kill them all." The new arrival spoke out and the dozen of his hidden allies all proceeded to attack the other patrons. Father Andrew was pulled by Sam to the nearby rear exit and rushed out. They were confronted by three other Vampires, armed with machetes.

"I guessed they had it planned well." Father Andrew told Sam Worthins. The priest drew on his sidearm which was a pair Colt Navy 44 revolver hidden inside his frock. He one of the revolvers to Sam.

"Mine' blessed by God and it contained silver mixed with lead." Father Andrew told the other. "It contains the holy blast."

Father Andrew took the first shot; he blasted the left Vampire in its head, removing it altogether. The other Vampires were momentarily shock, and then rushed at the duo with their machetes. Then Sam had gotten over his initial reaction and shot the Vampire on the center while Father Andrew shot the last one.

"The Faith had changed since my days." Sam looked at his revolver. "Can I keep it if I find the boy?"

Father Andrew nodded and took back the revolver.

Crusaders III: The New Age 1.25

3.6  It isn’t over until it’s done.

Micheal pull to rest on the back of the vehicle with his eyes closed while Sam took the wheel. They had done some damages to the enemies but the war was still on. It had been for sometime but their victories are scarce and had no major effect on the enemies. It was then Sam spoke to him.

"Micheal, are you listening?" Sam asked him. The older man heard the affirmative sound from the young shooter.

"I got a tale to tell you." Sam continued on. "Do you recall that I took you from the rubbles of the missionary? Well, it was not a coincidence. I was from the Missionary; a misled sheep that was asked to rejoin the flock for a reason. It was to bring you out to train you myself. Father Andrew of Moor then had contacted me to see him about you. He had told me of your past and your legacy."

"If it’s the tales of the Crusaders, then I am not interested." Sam had told the tales since he was rescued then at the age of thirteen. He recalled the Missionary was under attack and Brother Percy, his guardian then made him leave by the hidden tunnels.

"Go, my child. Your protector would be there at the other end. Follow him and learned hard." With that Brother Percy pushed the boy to leave but he was given a box to pass for the protector. That person happened to be Sam who was then dressed in the uniform of the United Euro with the rank of Lieutenant. For five years, Micheal was to follow Sam in his adventures with the mercenaries and also learned how to shoot with the rifles. As mentioned before Micheal was a natural and soon started on his first mission at the age of sixteen. Since then, he had never slowed down.

"Meeky, do you recalled the box, you gave me when we met then?" Sam asked him. "It’s below your seat."

Micheal ignored his statement and continued on his rest but he was keen to know what the older man had to say. He was whisked off without a reason then from the missionary.

"Meeky if you are not listening, it does not matters much but this tale had to be told." Sam continued on. "You are the descendant of Moor. Your ancestor was Micheal Moor who was the first members of the Crusader. You are his last surviving descendant. Your legacy was to exterminate the threat of the un-faithless and the fallen Angels."

It was those last words that made Micheal moved in his seat. He was unsettled by the word 'Fallen Angels'. It was in his dreams that he would shoot on one that was falling in free space, with its wings tattered on his back. It was one shot which he was not to know if he hit for his dream was never complete. He would always wake up in a fright; panting and covered with sweats.

"Micheal, please look into the box." Sam told the younger sniper once more. It was then the vehicle was rocked and then toppled over to its side, spilling its two passengers.

Sam recovered with his side arm drawn, and saw a shadow that swept passed by him, and yet unseen or uncaught by his eyes.

"Shadow!" Sam shouted out. "Demons!"

Sam' warning was heard, but it was to be his last. He did not feel the claws that pierced his back and tore along his spine. He turned to see his adversary but saw only a glimpse of the killer. He rolled onto his front and screamed. Micheal heard the cry and rushed to his mentor with the rifle. He saw the shadow, and swung the rifle like a staff. He heard the contact and it was like hitting something hard, and the rifle bent on the barrel.

Micheal dropped the damaged rifle and reached for his side arm. He was cautious and relaxed his body. He poised himself on his feet and leveled the sidearm, feeling then the shadow fleeting by him but not touching his body. He relaxed his mind and alerted his five senses. It was part of this training and legacy. The last jolted him but his hands and fingers reacted. There was not one shot but a series of shots which trailed by the movement of his hands.

The dark shadow shrieked out in pain and flew off into the dark skies.

"Thank God. You have acquired your skills." Sam moaned out in his pain. Micheal ran up to him, and crouched next to him.

"I think I got it but the darkness swallowed it." Micheal told him while he looked around in case the creature as he termed it came back.

"No, Micheal. Please ....hear me out." Sam coughed out his words when the blood covered his air passages. "Your legacy....in the box."

With those words, Sam the Mentor died on the sands of the wasteland. Micheal crouched there as a sign of respect for his mentor and also to think out his next move. There was no more attack, and he approached the toppled over vehicle. He retrieved his rifle and spare ammos, and then saw the box. He hesitated but then it was drawn to him, he had to know.

Micheal opened it and saw the two sidearm’s with a box of ammo. He recognized it as the early models of the revolvers; Colt Navy 44 with the long barrel. Beside the revolvers was a note.

"This one set of revolvers was once used by the Crusaders to kill Vampires. Its potent element is in the bullets; silver dust mixed with gunpowder with the silver head."

It was his legacy to own it

It was also his curse from the Moor family.

It was his ancestors' legacy, and now his.

Othello the Legatus Act 3 Part 1.36

Prologue 21

Othello sat there in the room where Desdemona had brought him back. She had a table laid out for the evening meal. She made him sit down and offered him a goblet of wine. She then walked off to the case where her clothes were kept. She had pulled out a flimsy dress and stripped off the one she had on. She wore that and approached the table.

"Othello, remember this. I wore it on our first night." Desdemona told him. "But you were called away. I had it stored and just remember it today."

Othello stood up and discarded his toga.

"We would not waste the event anymore. I am feeling the need to have my love for myself." Othello was not making love, he was letting off his frustration and anger. He did not stopped until she rolled off him by pulling herself off him.

"I had enough, my love." Desdemona got off the bedding and retrieved her flimsy gown. It was torn by his brute force and would not be of much use then. She discarded it and went for another decent gown. She felt as if her body was all bent or bruised at every join. He was like an enraged creature of the wild; it was not love, it was more like abuse.

"Well, I have more if you want." Othello sounded from the bedding with his legs spread out. "I am still virile for another round."

Desdemona turned her back on him, avoiding to look at his face without the mask and his enraging tool. She walked over to the pail of water and took the wet sponge out. She dabbed her body with the sponge to ease the bruises. He had then got out of the bedding and approached her.

"No more, my love. I am tired." Desdemona saw him coming and protested.

"How could you deny me? This is our first real session of it, and you tell me no." Othello asked her back. "Am I not good enough for you?"

"No, its just that I am tired. I need to rest. We could do it later." Desdemona reached toward him but he withdrew back.

"I know what is wrong. If not you that needed resting. Its me." Othello rebuked back in anger. "I am not to your expectation."

"Why are you saying that? I did not said that. I only needed rest." Desdemona was getting upset at him. She walked away but he grabbed her by the arm.

"Walk away from me, and I would have you leave my life forever." Othello threaten her. Desdemona looked at him with shock. Was this her lover; she asked herself.

"You are either drunk or ....silly." Desdemona told him. She pulled her arm away, but he held onto it tight. He pulled at her to swing her across the room.

"I shall be back later. Be ready, woman." With Othello pulled on his clothes and went out the doorway leaving her crying on the floor.

Othello the Legatus Act 3 Part 1.35

Act Three Scene 3 Part 4

Desdemona had lost her patience waiting of her love and climbed up to find him. She was accompanied by Emilia, and they soon met the Legatus at the harbour. He was talking to some legionnaires who was on duty there.

"Othello, you can't hide forever up there. We need to get you back." Desdemona walked up to him.

"No, leave me alone." Othello told her. "I need to take care of my men. So be away, lady."

Desdemona looked to the man who had told her to go off. She was to walked off when she noticed he was covered with sweats. She reached for the sash that was given to her by Othello. She had Emilia retrieved it for her from the room. She pulled it off her waist and hand it over to him.

"Uh", Othello was surprised at the dab on his back. He turned to her and told her to back off.

"I would be fine." Othello told her.

"Then please come back with me." Desdemona told him. She held his hand and pulled at it. He finally gave it and followed her. She walled with him, but she did not realized that she had dropped the sash.

Emilia saw that and picked it up. She recognised the sash as belonging to Othello. He once had worn that and even draped it over her shoulders. He had told her that only his love can wear it. She looked at it then at her hands, and had her own plans. She went to looked for Iago. She found him at the tavern. He was having his own drink by the corner.

"Iago, I have a prize for you." Emilia sat on the bedding. "One that you would like to bargain with."

"Whore, why should I negotiate with you? You are mine as a slave. Slaves don't have anything to negotiate." Iago reminded her of the deed of ownership he had signed with her father.

"With my prize, I would buy my freedom." Emilia told him.

"What is your prized that could be exchange for yours?" Iago looked at her. "Your body? That I have used many times, but maybe more for some years before I am ready to sell you to the Gauls."

"Your prized battle with Othello, I have the item to move strength towards you." Emilia looked at him.

"Your only prize as I mentioned before is what beneath that clothes." Iago laughed but Emilia glared at him.

"I am giving you one more chance. Deal or I would return the prize." Emilia told him off. She was to moved off when he spoke up.

"I would deal. Only if yours is worth the freedom of the ownership." Iago told her. Emilia dropped the sash in front of him.

"Use that to bait the blame on Desdemona." Emilia told him. "I got that from the room. She asked me fetch another ich, and I also took that. Its his. He would die for it."

"So you knew." Iago spoke out. "Its his sash. He only wore that in victory."

"Yes, you spoke too much in bed, Master." Her last word was coated with sarcasm. "You always say things when you are happy or spent. You hated him so much when he placed you over for Cassio. You hated Cassio more, and that really made you go mad. So mad that you plot to topple them both. Once they are out of the way, you could be the next in line to be Legatus."

"So my slave listens well. Maybe too well. Okay, you are free to go." Iago told her. "I have tired of you anyway. You would never be in the Legatus household."

Emilia left for the upper landing while Iago looked at the sash. He was forming in his mind on how this would affect Othello if it was found in the possession of Cassio. This was getting better than ever before.

It was later when Iago saw Othello descending on the landing.

"You are the one I seek." Othello looked at Iago. "You are the one."

Othello sat himself next Iago.

Othello the Legatus Act 3 Part 1.34

Prologue 20

Othello looked to the departing Centurion while he stood there. He then looked to Bay.

"Iago is a good man. He had there for me when I needed a friend, and a good Centurion." Othello sighed. "Maybe he had really my heart in his conscience that he spoke of her. And Cassio?"

"Did she select me or was me who selected her?" The Legatus asked himself then. He prided himself of being handsome, and more of his rank in the Legionnaire. But with the scars on his face, he had shielded himself with the wars, and the Legion. He met Brabatio at the Senate, and with that the turn of events. He was to meet her and then the jousting of words when they met. He soon overtook Cassio at the main guest at the house.

"Maybe she did. She had her fling on me and now may be looking for fresh prey." Othello sighed. "I am the fool if I am to be cheated. I have no choice but to learned to hate her."

"A cursed which I have to endure." Othello felt the anger in him. "A union which was to last, but it was a fallacy for us. Those we love, not all but the ones that mattered betray us more than the tribesmen. I guessed we are destined to be one that would look at our back."

Othello picked up the stone on the ground, and threw it at the direction of the Bay. He then remembered a past acquaintance's.

"Emilia..." Othello remembered his other lover; the one he had discarded upon his injury. She was there in the Castra while he healed, but left him when he was to be discharge. His last glimpse of her was the back view of her walking out of the room. They were together for over a few years with peace time to know each other, but all it took was one battle which shaped their parting.

Othello the Legatus Act 3 Part 1.33

"Jealousy? Of what I am to be jealous?" Othello replied. "What is that you feared of me being jealous? Who am I to be one? I am holding the position of Legatus and I desire not the Emperor's role."

Then he smiled. "You meant of Cassio and my love seen together? Why should I? Since they knew each other, he may still harbor some affection for her, but she love not him. She loved only me."

"My God, Othello. Do not think so of that on Cassio? Woes to the man who thinks he is loved when his love only dispensed empty meaning to him. If it that was the dream of Cassio, he would have a long sleep to look forward to. Desdemona belongs to only to you. " Iago added on the venom to the riddles.

"Misery to Cassio if that was true. But I doubt so. " Othello defended on the faith in his love. "Desdemona is a fine lady. She knew her duties and loved me for the care I shown her. She may be outspoken, flirty, but never would she betrayed my love. If you think its me who may be betraying her trust, then looked not at me as being one like that."

"Jealousy? Aha! Unnatural of myself to be one. If she had shown any signs of betrayal, I would not be jealous but I would get even on my misery. It won't be jealousy then, but pure anger." Othello told Iago.

"Alas, I am free of concern, but as your friend, I believe in caution. Like how I spied on my men, I would advise you do on her. Never let your guard down, or you would be killed." Iago mentioned their fighting motto, while he smiled. "I seen couples who can do wonders with themselves. They are not caught by it for they had all the plans not to be caught."

"Do you think that is so?" Othello looked to Iago on his claims.

"I been with one for so long. I knew more than you. Women are the same like Man. They can charm and at times withheld you from them." Iago smiled. "Your love appear like no others but she had the trait of them in her. She had charmed you and not the other way around as mentioned by her Father. She claimed to listened to your tales, or was it you listening to her then. She asked you to speak, and you told her everything. A trick of the women I have seen many times."

"I think you are right, Iago. I could been the one charmed." Othello fingered his mask over his face. He felt then to be silly that it was she who told him to speak.

"I am sorry, Othello, but words of such advice are resounding to be heard from true friends." Iago told him. Othello thanked the other.

"But don't take it to heart. I could had misjudged her. And also Cassio." Iago switched his alliance then. He was trying to confused the Legatus of which he had succeeded very well.

"Not a concern to me. Desdemona won't betray my love." Othello reinforced his own belief.

"And I know she won't, like you would not do the same to her." Iago replied to the empty beliefs.

"Aye, a fresh apple would be nice to sink the teeth in, but it may decayed left alone for weeks." Othello reflected on his long absence during the wars. "She did choose me among the many."

"Oh, she may had many admirers. She of beauty and influence held by her father, would had besotted by many admirers. Did she find you...appealing or mysterious with your mask? Or Cassio had ran out of ideas to intrigue her?" Iago looked away, and then smiled. "I am sorry, Othello. My idle mind had wandered to evil antics of the ladies."

"Don't feel bad, Iago. Your intentions are well received." Othello turned to walked away. Then he stopped.

"Its just I am so new to the union. And with this war, there was no time for us to ...manage it." Othello sighed to himself. He looked to Iago.

"Leave me here. I have much to think." Othello told the other. Iago made his exit alone to the tavern.
