Mordred 21.1

The Book of Revelations

21.

The Previous Realm

Keb retreated to his own throne seat while the battle raged below. It was among brothers and breeds with no known affliction but pure savagery that exist within their nature. The wolves were tearing at the others with the fangs and claws, while the blood drinkers were fighting with their extended claws. The followers of the Serpents were retaliating with their own drawn weapons of Man alongside the slithering serpents that worshiped the King. It was total mayhem and yet no one knew who were the friends and foes. He could not bear with the battle anymore. He saw the Blood Prince was cornered but there was no sight of the great wolf.

“Enough!” Keb called out when he raised his arms above his head. “Seth I called upon your powers and subdue the ones who battled us.”

With those words Keb began transforming into a gigantic serpent that towers at the height of over two times the height of Man, and his body elongated into a scaly form that lengthen to over a hundred feet. The scales of the body were dark greenish with tinges of dark streaks. The dimension of the body rounded to over six feet and it fanned out to over twelve feet at the neck with the head raised. From the side of its body just below the neck, the serpent sprouted several pairs of legs with claws. Keb in his serpent form then hissed out the forked tongue before it went forth to attack the pack of wolves. Its front double fangs sank in deep into the wolf back and then injected the venom into the victim. The wolf whimpered after a brief struggle and then dropped dead. Keb then struck out several times in seconds that brought down six more of the wolves with its fangs. It then slithered forward despite the other wolves trying to bite through the thick scales. Keb in his movement swept the wolves off with its body movement before it coiled back to attack the attacking wolves. It soon cleared a wide area with the dead wolves and blood drinkers that laid there dead.
The Blood Prince stood before the Keb and glared at it. His eyes shone with the bloodied shades were communicating with the Serpent King. He then turned to face the battling foes and raised his arms. Form the flaps of his cape, the bats flew out and attacked the ones fighting. There seems to be hundreds of such bats flying from the cape. The bats were not hidden in the cape but travelled through the portal that was the cape itself. The bats were engaging when the great wolf appeared. It stepped in on its bended hind legs with the extended claws bloodied. It stopped before Keb and then it transformed before him to an image of a lady. By then the battle at the cave had subsided with the three leaders in conference.

“King Keb, hold your wrath. The accused are no more here.” The lady spoke out in the tone of the lady.  “I am in my
other ego as Lady Wolf to face you. Do you see them as friends or do you see all of us as foes?”

Keb then moved to transform himself back to the image of Man. He stood there nude like the lady but was soon given a cape each by the Blood Prince. The later had chosen not to speak but he listened hard on the discussion that was to take place.

“We are all taken in by Azrael’s influence. He made us battled among ourselves to weaken our strength.” Lady Wolf continued on. “My wolves have taken most of the blows for we were termed as the savages here although there were few of the clans that joined Azrael. We knew by scent but you detect by perception.”

“Of that I sincerely apologised.” Keb replied. “I was taken in by the anger and betrayal. I was wrong in my move, and when I came to, it was too late. I have used my craft to quell the battle as you saw just now.”

“Bloods and lives were lost, King Keb.” Lady Wolf snapped back. “Your words meant nothing to them.”

With those words Lady Wolf held out her arms to show her numbers which was still sizeable despite the losses incurred.

The Blood Prince waved his arms and all of his followers stepped to aside leaving the followers of the Serpents in the middle.

“Lady Wolf, are you declaring us as foes once more?” Keb challenged the lady.  He then lowered his tone. “I am for one will not fight you anymore. I have said Azrael have influenced the battle, and I see no need to continue on from his influence. I shall compensate for your loss with a share of my wealth.”

“And so shall you take your due portion.” Keb looked to the Blood Prince. “But it will be after we have defeated the one who cause us this pain.”

Keb then looked at the gathered. The faces facing him were once his followers and allies but at that moment he was unsure if there were any of them who still have it. He was to speak when one of his followers stepped forward. He bowed before the King and spoke.

“I was one of the wayward but I heeded your advice. I am now prepared to face the punishment.” The follower stood at attention before the King. Keb stepped to face the follower and then voiced out.

“I receive your loyalty.” Keb sounded out as if he wanted all to hear. “But the punishment for disloyalty is dead.”
With that Keb punched his right hand into the throat of the follower. The follower collapsed on his knees and then fell flat on the flooring.

“You may all follow me by the old rules or you may end like him.” The gathered all stayed silent and then they were cheering the King.

Tweet...tweet....10/08.... Mordred to edit the end..

I was previewing Mordred and decided to re-write the ending at Chapter 32. I will need to extend by another 8 or more chapters to wrap up the characters and give..... Pardon me, but let me  do it this week but before the publication.

Meantime, I have  pen Deep Seas War with three more chapters to end it. I stopped this week with my mind on Mordred and other matters. Dinna worry, the keyboard calling for me and soon I will be hammering it. As of now while writing, I have two notebooks opened before me. I am typing on this one and the other was downloading.

Okay so what's after Deep Seas War and Mordred?

Actually I  have started on another named 'Unnamed' yet but its based on the Fallen Ones and referenced to George Orwell '1984' theme. I am trying something different; soul searching perhaps with dashes of adventure.

Till then, hatches secured we are diving soon.

Cheers

Mordred 20.2

The New Realm

Four Storm troopers ran to offer cover to their injured team mate. It was then I saw the lowering of more fire powers for these troopers. It was a modified gun; double barrelled and attached to a double curved ammo clip with a twenty projectiles. Each time the trigger was pressed, it will fire off a double projectile. I had seen it used on the shooting range and during impact the target mannequin was severed off its upper body.

“Grab the Killer Pack.” The wounded trooper called out. The other four went for the dropped weapon before I could stop them. They aimed the gun at me and fired off a salvo. I had barely raised another rock wall which took the major bulk of the fire power. Chiton once more lashed out with the whip and got the other four shooters to jump for safety. One of them was seen calling for assistance.

It was then the reinforcements arrived.

They descended down on the jet packs and landed on the flooring. It was a huge figure with the body armour that covered it from head to toe. The extra armour made the figure stood at over seven feet and with the extra guns on its arms, it must have weighted move than half a ton. The twin guns were the rapid firing weapon that utilizes the six barrels in a rotating cluster to provide a sustained rate of fire. It was fed by the ammo belt that was on the rear of the armoured figure. The armoured giant was nicknamed the Dreadnought. The same one that killed Sparky.

It moved in to action with its double guns at the walls of the cave. The sustained fire power tore off chunks of rock and levelled some pillars. I had then used my strong wind craft then and whisked off some rocks which slammed into the armoured giant. It did not impact much on the giant who had then turned to face me. Gabriel had then used his powerful weapon of the energy from the eyes and caused a hole beneath the giant’s legs. It sank in but the hole was not deep. It fired on Gabriel who flew off barely missing the shots.

It was then Aladdin guardian seems to move into action when it tried to move a supporting pillar on the flooring. It managed to crack the pillar and then brought down part of the ceiling of rocks onto the giant armoured. The falling rocks buried the four troopers along with the giant armoured.

That gave us a respite in the battle then. It was a brief one though.

From the walls, figures towering over three times the height of Man stepped out to the cave flooring. Their frame was dark in shade and cladded in stones. T

From out of the rubbles, the giant armoured rose again. One of its guns was dangling by the left arm but it was still functional. The giant roared out from its communication speaker.

“I still live.” The giant roared out and was then flung back onto its back. It was a Grigori who rose from the rubbles. It may have been in hiding then and was awaken by the falling rocks. The dark figure towered over three times the height of Man stepped out to the cave flooring. It had swung its left arm on the giant armoured.

“Die to all who dares to intrude on my rest.” The Grigori stood to its full height. It was my first look at the monster which differed from the writings in the ancient text. The Grigori was not of full the looks of Man but h had the limbs that resembled hands and legs but they were deformed in their looks with various dimensions in the different areas. One of its upper limbs was not on the shoulder but at the front chest just below the left shoulder while its other upper limb was to the rear of the right shoulder. It had three lower limbs that formed a tripod balance to its body. The lower limbs were wider in dimensions after the knees as if it was cladded in a thick pair of boots but there were no feet but a rounded heel in place. The head of the Grigori was not a head but a mound on its shoulder with the cracks that resembled the facial features. As it was all rocks, the surface of the frame was all chunky and uneven.

“Who are you?” The Grigori looked to us and then saw Gabriel. He lowered himself to face the Angel. “I did not notice you ….brother. I am sorry if I have hurt you.”

Gabriel stepped forth and looked closer to the towering monster. He then reached out with his right hand to the Grigori.

“Ramiel, is that you?” Gabriel voiced out in a cracked tone. “I did not…”

“Yes, Gabriel. It’s me. I missed you.” The Grigori reached out with its own hand at the chest. Then it screamed out in pain when the shot from the giant armoured hit its back. The later had recovered from the blow and had retaliated with its right gun. The Grigori fell to its knees with the back smouldering with a large crater and the rear arm dangling on the side. Gabriel reacted with the sneak attack with his deadly energy blast from his eyes at the giant armoured. The blast tore a hole in the armour and then penetrated the flesh beneath. It soon hit the energy pack that was on the rear and caused an explosion.

“Ramiel, are you okay?”Gabriel rushed to the Grigori.

“I am hurt.” Ramiel replied. “I need to recover. Please excuse me.”

With that, Ramiel took to the dark corner and then merged into the cave walls. Gabriel stood there with his look on the departing monster. He was then shot at the side but his wings deflected the bullet. It was the wounded Sergeant.

“Guardian, this is not the end.” The wounded leader staggered up to his feet while his right hand held the hand gun. “I will see you in Hell.”

The wounded storm trooper took another shot but it went wild. Chiton had her whip struck him at the neck to sever it. The headless body went down on his knees before he dropped the hand gun. I looked at Chiton who was seated up.

“It was him or us.” Chiton voiced out. “They were not merciful in their approach.”

I looked away and saw Rumpel picking up the one of the deadly gun that belonged to the Sergeant. He weighed them in his hands and smiled.

“I could do with a few of this.” Rumpel smiled. “It’s good to reply back in the same ferocity. Here Leggins, have go with it.”

Rumpel threw the gun towards Leggins but the later had no wish to use the deadly weapon. He swung his sword to cut into half before he faced me.

“Guardian, it seems we have an issue now.” Leggins called out to me.  “The Fallen have started off a war which involves all of us. Do we fight or stand down?”

“I think they are fighting us because of who we were. They can be told the truth about us and then how Merlin had made us looked hostile.” I tried to avoid the conflict but Leggins was past listening.

“I will not fight for them. I only fight to protect my own.” Leggins glared at me.

“For now, I am needed here and we cannot surface at all.” Gabriel voiced out. “The Fallen are our issues. We will fight them in our own way. If the war overreached to your people, I cannot be there to assist them. It seems that as the Guardian, you have to defend your own.”

I sensed the loss in the Angel and then look at Rumpel. He was standing there by himself and was waiting for someone to take command. I looked over at Chiton who was still wounded. They were my care and needed the leadership of the Guardian. I have that great responsibility to them. There was a need to clear the confusion and avoid the conflict with the others. The Fallen can be taken care of by Angels.

“I will take care of my own people.” I voiced out.

Mordred 20.1

20.

The Previous Realm

Merlin looked at the assembled before him in the hidden chambers of Azrael. He saw Azrael standing in the circle among the gathered. There was Lilith who had just joined them. There was Fangnir standing by himself at the side. There were others there too which he knew from past battles but they were never captured.

“Lilith you played your role well as an ally of the Serpents.” Azrael smiled. “I had my doubts but you did it so convincing.”

“Keb was difficult to convince but his son Neheb was no real challenge.” Lilith replied while she sauntered over to the side of Azrael. ‘It too Neheb to settle the father and then I was their Goddess.”

Lilith was dressed in full red gown that covered her from neck to her feet with a shroud that was pulled back to reveal her face. She was a beauty with the pointed eye lids and red luscious lips that was shaded in red. Her cheeks were powdered with a thin layer of red shades to give her an impression of the high bones there. Her hair was cropped short to the scalp but it had streaks of red on the sides.

“The Blood Prince was ever suspicious but the Wolf was never one. The later was wild but like creatures of such I had it tamed before my beauty.” Lilith then glared at Merlin. “Merlin, you are a surprise here. I would have expected you dead by now but Azrael told me everything.”

Merlin never battled Lilith before. He only heard of her from the Ancient Books. She was once the lover of Adam but due to the intervention, she was discarded by Adam for another. She had sought revenge against him for that desertion.

“Please,” Azrael cut in. “We are among friends.”

Merlin laughed and then glared at Fangnir. He was to speak when Azrael cut in again.

“I do not want us to dwell on the past. We are going to the future.” With that Azrael waved his hands and a hologram appeared before them. “This is our carriage to the new realm.”
It showed an oblong contraption.

“The carriage will carry thousands of us.” Azrael continued on. “The works was discussed with Merlin but all of you need to cooperate. We have to accommodate each other.”

“Azrael, I have studied the design.” Merlin brought up his concern. “It’s not our level of knowledge to build something like this. They are way beyond our time era and then the power source.”

Merlin held up the powerful artefact which was discovered from a meteor that had crashed on the world years ago. The area was later marked as Meteor End’s. From the meteor, we retrieved seven shards of crystal which emitted energy.

“The energy is unstable.” Merlin voiced out but Azrael brushed him off.

“It will be of use. We have no other option to generate that level of energy.” Azrael looked at Merlin who was still looking concern. “Okay, I hear you. How many ships can we safely hold?”

“I don’t know.” Merlin replied. “I already said we are not prepared for such …energies.”

All that was gathered looked forlorn until Azrael explained his next action.

“Give me the signal if you cannot hold the ships. I will do the needed to save us.” Azrael explained his action.

“Sacrifices must be made. After all in our realm, we are neither friends nor foes, only numbers. When we reached there we will be enforced with more of our own people. Rejoice, my brethren the Fallen will be united once again.”

Mordred 19.2

The New Realm

The newly arrived person approached us. Her dark armour was torn on the left sleeves and part of the right leggings. Her pretty face was covered with dirt and there were some scratches on her left cheek. She staggered over but I had her cradled in my arms before she could fall.

“Chiton, what happened?”

“The Dark Queen came with her knights and killed more of us.” Chiton whispered out. “Jake is dead. So are many others.”

“Who’s else?” Leggins asked. Chiton heard him and looked at the Elf. She smiled at him.

“Most of your people too. Tormis and Charon died with Jake.” Chiton whispered out. “They were in the service of  the Dark Queen.”

“It can’t be.” Leggins refused to accept that accusation. He rushed in and pulled at her face towards him. “They were my loyal subjects.”

“Face it, Lord Leggins. They may have been once your subjects but their loyalty had shifted. They believed in the services of the Fallen Lords now.” I pushed the assumption towards the Elf.

“Who are with the Fallen Lords?” Leggins asked. Chiton ran down a list which included the Cohens, Fangnir, and among others the Bernard and Marshal clans of the Elves. Leggins drew back and walked to the side of the cave to contemplate his next action. Rumpel and Aladdin were in conference while I continued on holding Chiton. She looked up at me and told me of the latest happenings.

“There is a war out there between brothers and friends.” Chiton told him. “Elves and our people and soon with the others. The outsiders are coming into the battle.”

I held the lady closer while she wept. Leggins was pacing and muttering to himself while Rumpel and Aladdin were in deep discussion. I was to speak when I heard the shrieking sound on the outside of the cave. It was heard for one second and then the projectile was seen dropping down from the ceiling. It was laser guided bunker bomb weighing at five thousand pound. The bomb has a length of eighteen feet with a diameter of less than a foot. It had a bomb load of six hundred loads. It was capable of penetrating twenty feet of solid concrete or rocks as in the cave there.

“Cover!” I crouched down on Chiton while the others were running for cover. The projectile fell through and landed on the flooring. It laid there on the flooring unmoving. All eyes were on it. We heard of the delays in these projectiles but no one was sure. The projectile looked menacing lying on the flooring with its rear dorsal fins and the intimidating head where the trigger was located. These weapons use on-board electronics to track targets that are designated by laser, typically in the infrared spectrum, and adjust their glide path to precisely strike the target. Since the weapon is tracking a light signature, not the object itself, the target must be illuminated from a separate source, either by ground forces, by a pod on the attacking aircraft, or by a separate support aircraft. I knew more of them as one of my drinking mates was a fighter plane pilot.

The projectile released a hissing sound and then became silent again.

“Damn!” I cursed out and kicked out with my legs at the projectile. It was then we heard the hissing sound again and all of us took to cover again. My pilot friend have never mentioned about the damage in an explosion but given the location we were in, I was not giving much thought of us surviving the explosion.

“Run!” Leggins was either brave or desperate. The Elf leap up the rocks and fled to the far corner. It was also then I saw the stream of fire energy that penetrated the projectile surface and into it. It was all so fast and then Gabriel stepped out. He was to speak when more figures jumped down from the ceiling. Five figures were scaling down using ropes. They were in armours and camouflage suits with heavy weapons.

“Bravo, hostiles in the open.” The one who called was the first to land on the flooring. The figure was armed with a heavy calibre weapon that I once seen during a weapon display. The weapon have two barrels and was fed by the ammo belt that was slung to the rear where it was kept in a tight bandolier pack. It was named the Killer Pack. It was not the firing rate but the impact of the projectile which could tear a hole in a concrete wall. On the figure’s chest were the webbings with the grenades with the Browning automatic holstered over this heart. He landed with his knees spread while he cocked the weapon into firing position

“Storm Troopers!” The figure called out and then aimed the weapon at the slab of rock on the side. He demonstrated the firing power of his weapon on the slab which disintegrated into smaller pieces. They are the elites of the elites. The Storm troopers were selected units to counter our threat. They are similar to super soldiers with the training and conditioning.  That also included steroids and drugs to enhance their strengths. They have no equal nor are friends outside of their own mates.  They were trained by Merlin for the others as an alternative solution to the Guardians.

“We are here to arrest anyone who is attempting to run or use their crafts on us. All of you are classified as Class E threat.” The figure spat out his words. “And my name is Sergeant Cole. That is for your information.”

Aladdin’s guardian sprang into action unseen by us but his move was to grab the weapon. There was a struggle that appeared to us as the Sergeant holding on his weapon fighting off some imaginary foes. The Sergeant released a shot and it was aimed close to me. In defence I had raised with haste the rocks of wall to deflect the bullets. The bullets on impact at the wall exploded and caused a major crack in the rocks but it held in place to deflect the shots. The other four had landed by then and were firing without a second thought. They were armed with the same weapon but theirs were attached with the grenade launchers. They began firing the grenades into the cave walls. The explosions erupted around us but we have taken cover. I have then created another wall of rocks over me and Chiton. She struggled off my arms and lashed out with the whip. It caught the Sergeant and severed the arm just above the right elbow. The Sergeant dropped his weapon while his right hand reached to cover his lost his left arm then but he was not giving up. The figure reached for the Browning but by then I had the wind craft out and threw the wounded Sergeant to the far wall but the shooter was still trying to get up despite the bleeding arm.

Mordred 19.1

19.

The Previous Realm

Merlin staggered on his legs before balancing himself by the tree trunk. He was whisked away by Berlin in a rush from the Hall. The later had then sealed the great doors of the Hall so that it could not be opened. He then waved his hands and the area around them was soon filled with more archangels. Berlin gave his command that if the doors were breach they were to remove all the escapees. He then called on a spell which opened a portal for them. They stepped into it and were soon on a hill top looking at the sea.

“Berlin, I had expected you to remain incognito as the Head of the Academy. It was a hard work to keep you hidden.” Merlin looked to his own brother while he stepped away. Berlin had ignored the other and looked himself out to the sea.

“I did as you told me. I have always listened to your advice.” Merlin continued on. “I feigned ignorance when I saw you then as Azrael. I acted surprise when you mentioned the vortex.”

“The vortex was to be our secret and yet you sounded out to Keb. Have you lost your mind?” Merlin was getting upset.

“The vortex was our doing and passage to be reunited and yet you utter to an enemy.”

“Hush, Merlin. Please soothe yourself with the whispering wind here.” Berlin raised his arms to the skies while he spoke.
“Hear the creation of HIS.”

“Berlin, hold your own leisure thoughts.” Merlin was getting upset at the non-concerned look of his brother. “Are you listening to me?”

Berlin continued with his enjoyment and that irritated Merlin. The later lashed out with a fire spell at the feet of Berlin. The spell did not startle Berlin but he did glared at Merlin.

“My other ego as Azrael needed more freedom to express his influence.” Berlin told Merlin.

“I knew that. I have been covering your follower’s mistakes.” Merlin hit back. “I was to only encounter the renegades. Then ….”

“Renegade? I liked that. On their side, they were heroes.” Berlin laughed. “Funny how we tagged ourselves depending on whom we serve. One time we were Angels and then we became the Fallen. Now the ….”

“Enough of your talks, Berlin. I had seen them all before.” Merlin paced himself to the clearing. “We were to be united but with your ideas, you exposed us to the enemy.

“Merlin, or shall I call you by your other name; Lucifer.” Berlin hit back. Merlin looked at the other and was to snap back but he then sighed.

“Okay, you win.” Berlin finally spoke out. “I have triggered the vortex. It’s arriving soon. Are the ships ready?”

“Yes.” Merlin replied. “I made them to your specifications but there are four which needed some checking.”

“Well, get them ready. We are leaving soon.” Berlin told him. “We cannot wait for too long.”

“Wait! Why is Lilith involved here?” Merlin cut the conversation to the archangel they escaped from.

“She is part of  the rival factions. We …”

“You broke us into factions. Rival factions.” Merlin was listening to the excuses.

‘No! I did not create the fractions. She did it.” Berlin was getting irritated. “Lilith was never pleased. She wanted more. She fought over Adam and with his loss she became more intense to win over. She thought by getting close to Adam, she would be selected but it was never her choice. But HIS.”

“HIS was what we defied.”

“True, but HIS was never the correct one. The dimension was there for us to take. The inhabitants were naïve and were easy to influence. We showed them some tricks and then they were ours to command.”

Merlin looked away. He was aware of the history and how they progressed was amazing. The more we feed them they demanded more of us. Azrael and Lilith had some disputes on the leadership. It led to their breakup and the rivalry among them. Some centuries ago, Berlin discovered the Ancient Books in some old tombs. It led him to any new discoveries and also the vortex. It took Berlin over a century to unravel the mysteries.

“Merlin, we need to move. I got more of our friends to meet. They have to be prepared for the vortex.”

“Lilith, Berlin?” Merlin insisted.

“She will join us eventually.” Berlin smiled. “The alliance with Keb was to trap him and his followers. They have served their role and it was time to terminate them.”

“Don’t you have any real friends or enemies?”

Mordred 18.2

The New Realm

“Berlin, I was told is dead.” I voiced out in protest. I glared at Leggins “His people told me so.”

“We said he is not here with us but none of us said he was dead.” Leggins defended himself. “It was in your mind that you believed Berlin was dead. You had him brought to us but we could not hold him.”

“There were others before him. In the old realm, your kind was also custodians of the renegades. You held them well.”

“True, my people were the custodian but the rumours that they died there were untrue. We did kill them. They were taken away by Berlin for torture. We had no choice then. Berlin had our elders in their influences.” Leggins defended once again. “We were branded as killers but who would ever believe us. We are the Elves and shied from the others.”

“Berlin is Azrael in disguise.” Gabriel voiced out. “Berlin and Merlin were once of ours but they disappear soon after the war with the Angels. We thought we had Azrael in capture but it turned out to be a double. They vanished from our search but soon we were to find out that they had shield themselves as one of yours. We were to capture them but they have grown strong then. They fought us off and defeated many of us.”

“Berlin formed the Academy to find new recruits and also to enhance their power. Merlin was his executioner to capture the friends of the Angels. Merlin had them killed or sent to the Divide.” Gabriel explained it all. “You and the rest of us were all fools at some time.”

“It can’t be. I don’t believe this.” I kicked in my feet on the matter. “I came here to find the truth on…”

“The truth hurts you because you have been brain washed to deny it.” Gabriel snapped at me. “Clear your mind. You were once their apprentice but you need to open your mind.”

“I came here to find what is happening in the land. Dragons and renegades…” I called out. Then I stopped. It was all wrong. I was wrong. Not them. I was denying myself of the truth. I turned to face Gabriel.

“So assuming you are right. Where is Merlin and ….Berlin?” I did not get my reply for the walls on the cave started vibrating. Gabriel spread out his wings and soared to the ceiling while the other two Angels retreated into the dark. Aladdin was whisked off by his unseen guardian. Rumpel and Leggins had sought cover behind some break in the walls. I had faced the vibrating walls, and saw them move. From it, the figures emerged.

“Grigori!” Gabriel shouted out. There were four of them approaching fast then. In their hands were the stone club that was length of the spread out arms.  Gabriel did a turn but he was not prepared for the hurled stone club. One of the Grigori aimed at the flying archangel and hit him hard on the left wing. Gabriel came down hard among the rocks. I rushed over and cradled the archangel into my arms. His left wing looked damaged by the stone club but the archangel looked good. I did not see the approaching Grigori at my rear but Rumpel was quick to my defence. He knitted up a long strand of strings that went around the Grigori legs and pulled taut at it. The giant wobbled when its legs were tied and then fell onto its front. It was then I moved into action with the wind crafts to bring the rocks on it.

It was a mistake for the Grigori was made of the same substance hardly felt the impact

Then the unseen custodian of Aladdin came into action when it flew around the Grigori like a slithering serpent. During its flight, the custodian must have grabbed one of the Grigori by the hand and then pulled it hard towards the other. In the move, the Grigori was taken by surprise and fell against the other Grigori.

Leggins had then moved into action with his sword swinging. His famed sword cut deep into the Grigori body and severed an arm on one. He moved to swing at the fallen Grigori’s neck but was thwarted by the last Grigori still standing. Leggins had to jump clear from the swinging club aimed at his head. The Elf smaller in frame was nimble in his movements as he moved from the Grigori back to the nearby rocks before he do a jump while turning his body to use the momentum to swing the sword in a backwards move. The sword cut deep into the left shoulder of the Grigori which earlier tried to kill the Elf. He then twisted the sword to cut in deeper into the shoulder and forced it deep. The Grigori shrieked in pain. It hit its hands on the flooring. The cracked flooring showed seepage of water as it wet the area.
It was then I corrected my mistake. I forced the water beneath the flooring to break through it. The jet of water threw the other Grigoris who were trying to stand. The jet of water washed off the sands from the rocks and revealed cracks. I then projected the wind craft into the cracks and forcing the rocks there to move. The soil and sands acted like glue for the rocks soon moved. It was then to move the pressure in using the wind to force break the joints. That time it worked when I got the right arm off and then the shoulder. I swung the disjointed rock limb and then hurled it at the other Grigori.
The hurled arm stabbed into the Grigori in the back. It resembled a third arm jutting out there but it was hurting the Grigori. Leggins took the opportunity to grab the third arm and somersault it upwards to swing the sword on the side of the Grigori head to sever it. The sword halved the Grigori on its skull but there were no soft tissue inside.

Then the call came. It sounded like a horn.

The remaining Grigoris left the scene and join back to the walls.

“How can that be?” Rumpel was collecting back his strings.

“It can only be…” Gabriel was to tell but he was interjected.

“Hello, Gabriel.” The voice was deep and sweet but the person approaching them was not the same.

Mordred 18.1

18.

The Previous Realm

Merlin looked to Keb who stood there by himself. He looked to the archangel who stood by his side. Azrael smiled at the old master. He then looked at Keb who had not moved to join Merlin.

“Archangel Azrael, I cannot walk with you. I have to serve my own.” Keb replied. “You should know of it. The wicked and evil resides in me too and my followers but we are the children of the Serpents.”

“Azrael, it’s obvious my cell will not hold you unlike what my Mistress told me.” Keb then looked to his own followers. “Those of you who are the followers of this archangel may leave with him. Be warned that if we are to meet again it won’t be as friends.”

“Merlin, you truly disappointed me.” Keb glared at the old magician. “I thought …”

“You were wrong, Keb. I knew of the Fallen. I knew of them as I was one with them before. I did not live this long to be ignorant of the other realms.” Merlin replied. “The Ancient Books led me to them, and then they showed me the real crafts.”

“Merlin, you have led the realm with your so called wisdom. You fought my people on the call of justice against evil. Now you dare to tell me that there was more evil in you than me?”

Azrael laughed out loud.

“Keb, you were the fool to think there are evils. Or there are good and bad. It depends on which side you took. What is on yours will always be deemed good and the other side rotten bad if I may word it.” Azrael then unmasked himself for all to see. “I am Azrael whom you seen as evil but there are another me which I am showing you now.”

“Behold the image of Berlin whom you have all heard for his leadership of the young gifted ones in the Academy.” It was truly the image of Berlin who stood there. He then proceeded to the centre of the Hall. He faced his own followers.

“Let there be carnage.” Azrael/Berlin called out. With that command the battle among the gathered began. Wolves and blood drinkers all fought for their own leaders.

The Blood Prince stood his ground with his arms spread out and the cloak flowing. A wolf sprang at him but the Prince had the attack cut short when his sharp claws on his fingers lashed out at the throat. He turned his body to add momentum to the attack and with a swipe of his right hand the extended claws cut into the wolf throat. With the same momentum, the Blood Prince threw the dead creature to the side among some battling wolves. He then stepped forth and faced two of his own people which had forsaken his leadership.

“Betrayal!” The Blood Prince cried out and from his cloak the dark winged creatures flew out. The winged creatures charged into the two blood drinkers and attacked it with their fangs and claws. The winged creatures were ferocious and tore their adversary to a bloodied pulp in seconds. It then felt a presence behind him but it was one of his own.
“My Prince.” The blood drinker greeted the leader. The Blood Prince acknowledged the other and turned to face the others. It was its instinct which saved the Prince when he stepped aside. The blood drinker had a dagger stabbed into the Prince’s lower back but when he moved, the dagger creased him. The Prince in turn reached back with the elbow punch at the face and then moved his body to thrust his extended claws into the chest of the blood drinker. He grabbed the innards there and pulled it out. He threw the innards off to the side and then reached for his own wound. He rubbed the wound and then licked his own blood.

Around the Hall, the wolves fought with claws and fangs, tearing their counterparts or the blood drinkers. One elderly wolf larger in size rushed into a young pack. The elderly wolf used it front paws to break the young wolf at its snort. Then it used its body mass to push the injured wolf back before it snapped its fangs onto another young wolf hind. The fangs tore in deep and removed a chunk of the flesh before it felt its own hind being beaten by another. It reached for the rear but it was then attacked by another in the right side. The wolf had its fangs bitten deep into the older wolf left shoulder. It will not let go of its bite and clawed with its front paws. The older wolf reached out and bit into the attacking rear hinds but it was out of reach in its turn of the body, the older wolf was exposed to a blood drinker which used its legs to kick at the exposed abdomen. The older wolf jumped aside on the kick and was attacked by the earlier two young wolves with their fangs tore into its neck. It was the dying howl of the elder wolf which echoed in the hall.
Merlin had moved into the battle with his crafts of fierce fire from his hands at the wolves. In the frenzy of attack the friends and foes were unseen or cared in the chaos. He was aiming his fire at the mass then regardless of whom it may hit. He saw a wolf about to leap at him but Merlin had the wolf send slamming towards the back with his mental blast. It was then Merlin saw the new arrival which swooped in from the far end. It was another archangel from the looks but that one was spewing dark energies at the battled.

“We must leave now.” Azrael/Berlin called out while pulling at the elderly master. “There is a need to retreat. Lilith is here.”

“Lilith?” Merlin was to ask but was pulled away by Azrael/Berlin.

Mordred 17.2

The New Realm

“The vortex was created by the Fallen to unit them into this vortex.” Gabriel told us. “Merlin was in it from the start. He was one of their followers.”

“No!” I hit back. “I can’t believe that. Merlin will betray us.”

“Then see for yourself the Cave of the Fallen.” Gabriel called out and the place they stood was no more the Garden but it was a cave. The cave was huge with the high ceiling and walls. “We have arrived.”

Rumpel lost his footing the while I reeled back in surprise. It was Leggins who laughed and was followed by Aladdin.

“Don’t be surprised.” Gabriel spoke again. “While your soul was in the Garden, the body of yours travelled far on it journey. And we are here now.”

“The place which you sought is here. The answer is here but it may be dangerous for you to know the truth. Are you sure?”

I shuffled on my feet but my mind was made up. I nodded but my sight was towards the deep dark end of the cave. It was there I sensed movement and soon it appeared. I saw then the wings and then the frame of man. There were two of them but I was wrong to say they were the frame of man for one was not a man but a woman. They were clothed in light and yet it was not translucent or bright but a shade of cover yet it was not of any cover that resembled cloth.

“I am Male and she is Female.” The more masculine spoke to us. “We are the Watchers of the Grigori. And also the Guardians of the Cave.”

The Male looked at the walls and ceilings before he smiled.

“If the walls could speak, then there will tales to speak of that will last nights. We seldom have an audience.” The Female in turn voiced out. “Are you here to hear us? Then let us speak.”

It was then I noticed that the pair who greeted us had theirs eyes bounded with some cover. The Female sensed my observation and voiced out.

“We did not close our sighs but we chose to be sightless. From sight, we may pre-judge but with our other senses we could better assessed the qualities which one sight could not reveal.” The Female told me.

“Who is good and who is wicked? With our sight overriding our senses, we may err.” The Male added in. “But how do we judged what is good and evil when even ourselves we know not what is there.”

“The Fallen came with intentions to help the realm but they were soon blinded by sight. Their sight betrayed their senses and soon corrupted their mind. From there they erode and then total blindness overtook them.” The Female voiced once again.

With a wave of the hands, the walls surrounding us revealed the heavenly world that was once seen by the Angels.
It was a beautiful scene of vast green garden with the flowing streams with the clear water, and boundless orchard. There were pavilions seen in the garden with the adjoining fountains next to it. They were designed with ornately designed roofs detailing the doves and flowers. Each pavilion held a seating for several persons at any one time. The pavilion was covered by the stone pavements that encircled it with the stones inlaid paths on that linked them in the garden. In between the gardens are the tall hills with the taller trees which gave the land terrains. With the terrains, the growth of the lands varied by the soil it grew with a myriad of colours and shapes. There were assorted flower beds of differing shades and designs. Each was well maintained. Lastly I saw then the movement of the living creatures; wild and yet gentle in their approach. The creatures survived on their food but it was the old and feeble which will succumb to the young and able.

“Such was the law of survival.” The Female sighed then.

“We lost sight of one sense that was veiled in our mind. It was treachery which drove us do the unthinkable.” The Male took on the tale. “The sincere approach of the Angels that came here was trapped by the treachery of one. Beware the one that held the serpent on the body.”

“Who would that be?” I asked out.

“It’s one named Azrael.” The Male replied. “You may know him as Berlin. He is with Merlin.”
