Legion Resurrected Chapter 8

8.
Michael
Michael slashed out with the Excalibur with the swing of his right arm. The extended blade on his gauntlet cut deep into the Nephilim at the left thigh. The giant form was created by the Seraph Warriors consummation with the local females. The mutation of their genes, created the race of giants that reached the heights of twice that of Man and held greater strength in their body. The giants themselves then mated and borne were the huge beings that exceeded their parents with bigger frame. They would had been accepted by the others except most of the Nephilim were deformed in looks and were forced to be outcasts or slaves.
“No other race except that of Mankind shall be spared.” It was the command of the Supreme and relayed by Michael to his army. “Slaughter them all.”
It was not a task that all relished for some of the defeated ones pleaded for their offspring then.
“Spare the form your wrath. They are not fearsome warriors but docile creatures. They held our blood line in them.” Such pleas were not heeded. It was difficult when the army led by Michael had to face the enraged Nephilim whose emotions were stirred by the culling of their kind. Some of them saw their parents killed or held against their will. It was the call to fight.
And they fought the Seraph Warriors hard.
“Michael, we got them on the retreat. We can rest and tend to our wounded.” Michael heard the call by Gabriel. The battle was tough and his army had their wounded to tend. He had brought a hundred of his own, and faced down initially half their number of Seraph and Nephilim. He turned to look at those who were wounded when he made his walk among them. He saw the looks of pain, and also of wonderment He guess the later was the amazement that they actually survived the battle.
“Their numbers grew in the battle.” Gabriel told him.
“No, we were wrong. Our scouts have failed us. We were led into a trap.” Michael replied. “Our fighting skills and weapons helped us.”
Michael looked at the retracted blade on his right gauntlet. In the battle it was coated with blood from the enemies. Once it retracted, the blood will be wiped off to his fingers, and palm. He wiped the blood off on his cloak that he wore to set himself off the others. His wings had retracted and like the blade, the excess blood was pushed to his back.
“Excalibur performed well today, brother.” Gabriel praised the esteemed blade that was wield by Michael. Excalibur was not any blade but considered to be a mystical being that was bounded by oath of servitude to the Supreme and formed with a rare metal into the feet long blade.
“No more than your horn, Gabriel.” Michael had seen the mighty horn blown by the later to rally the army when they were seen to be giving up. The Horn of Hope was the weapon that moved any size of army to double its strength in their mind and determination. Gabriel was given the privilege of holding that power.
“And it held a nasty blow.” Gabriel laughed. The horn was not only a rally weapon but a deadly one when directed on an adversary, it could blow away the figure to distance behind. Or create an opening in a wall of strength.
“We are truly blessed to be given such powerful weapons.” Michael smiled. It saved lives. And with it they will rebuild the dimension.
Mankind shall live once more.

The Diner
“What is the idiot doing out there?” Bob leaned close to the door looking outside. “Is he to parlay to get us out or save his own skin?”
“Hey, downstairs. We need some ammo. We are cleaned out.” Jeep who was guarding the other end, heard the call from the platform above. He reached into the bag and checked its content. He took out the extra rifle and then carried the rest in the bag to the ladder.
“It’s heavy and I need help.” Jeep called out. It was Kyle who climbed down. He saw Bob at the doorway, and the waitress was seated where he was before the battle. He then looked at Jeep.
“Anything to eat huh?”
“You could grab the apple pie. That is still in the warmer or the coffee. I think there are some left.” Jeep replied.
“Nobody gets any free stuff. Pay the money on the counter. And I can count what has been taken.”: Bob roared from the doorway. “I’m not any charitable joint. And what is the man taking so long?”
“Oh, no.” It was Charlie then. She was seen holding the tummy and calling out. “I think I broke the water bag.”
“Shit!” Jeep ran towards her and stood there looking concerned. “What can I do?”
“Jeep, step away. You are hopeless at that. And so am I.” Bob called out. “Get Percy. He was medic before.”
Kyle responded to the call and climbed up with the heavy bag. He reached the platform and called to Percy.
“Lady is busted her …. Bag. Are you able to …? You know handle a delivery.”
“Heck, I am a soldier and a cook. I have … Wait, I have done it.” Percy then dropped the rifle and walked over. Kyle stepped aside for him to climb down while he grabbed the extra clips to load onto his rifle. He stooped over and saw Michael still in talks with the other. He was tempted to line his rifle on the other and shoot the brains out of the head. His sight was diverted to the sounds of blasting at the distance. He reckoned it was Las Vegas and it was burning like Hell.
“Well, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
“Well, Michael. It looks like we are at the start of the new war. Mankind will kill themselves and then the world will be once more open to us to re-do good again.” Turion looked hard at Michael. “We can’t stop the events that was set into motion.”
“Why does that have involved the baby?” Michael asked. “Let it live and …. Manage the mankind.”
“Like its father once did.” Turion glared at Michael. “Was that what we did to stop him then? The war that cost us brothers and sisters, and aeons of hunting with more deaths on both sides.”
“Turion, you have been corrupted by the stay here. We held no vengeance among us. We are…”
“No more the once happy family. We are now split into ranks of good and evil. I am with the good, as you are, or have you turned?” Turion asked Michael.
“Lucifer was not an enemy but a misled brother.” Michael voiced out.
“Speak not his name to me. I have hunted for him for far too long.” Turion replied. It was then he heard the cry of pain from the Diner.
“Your lady is giving birth.” Michael was told. “Do as needed or it will be done for you.”
“Lady, I don’t know what I can do but you got to get ready. I think your baby is coming out.” Percy took hold of Charlie and led her to the flooring. He had laid the blanket there. He turned to look for Jeep.
“Get the pot boiling Clear water and bring me the towels. And the …” Percy called in a frantic tone. “Whatever…”
“I will get it.” Jeep placed his rifle down and ran to the kitchen before he placed the big pot on the stove. He then started the fire and filled up the pot. He then moved to the cupboards and grabbed the towels. He took a whiff of them and sighed. It was clean compared to his own which he hung out to dry every evening. It was his chore for years from the lingerie to the overalls he had.
“Jeep, bring me the First aid box.” Percy called out. The young man then rushed to the counter and grabbed it. It was then he saw the other young lady holding the handgun and aiming at Percy’s back.
“Lady, no….” Jeep tossed the First Aid Box at the lady. The box hit Audrey on the side of the head and the shot went off but it impacted on the wall. Jeep rushed over and then grabbed the handgun off the lady. He turned the handgun and aimed at her.
“Percy, you okay?” Jeep called out. He heard Charlie screaming and Bob had rushed towards the lady. The old man of his did hesitate and threw the punch at the lady. She went down onto the flooring with her lips bleeding.
“Heck! Have I not enough shooting for one day? And trust a bitch to add to that.” Bob was fuming with rage and then reached for the soothing smoke but he could not light the match. He stormed off and lit his cigarette over the stove fire. Jeep meanwhile had reached Percy who was administering the blanket to soothe the screaming lady.
“Lady, stop the screaming. I can’t do my job if you don’t shut up.” In Percy’s previous works, he would had punched the lady out or was it the soldier’s he was treating. “I am going to jab you with morphine.”
Percy was not sure if the morphine was a good choice but he had little choices to select from. Jeep reached him with the wads of towels. He recalled cleaning them in the washer but disinfectants were not one of the ingredients. He set the towels by the side, and asked for the First Aid Box. It was Bob who kicked over to him the box. He grabbed the morphine and jabbed it into her.
“Now, lady. I hope you won’t mind. We need to remove your panty. And I need to look at your part. So be calm and don’t scream rape please.” Percy explained his moves. He then shouted out.
“Jeep, step back. You are not ready to see the reason we try not to have sex too often.”
Outside, Michael turned to leave for the Diner but Turion stopped him.
“We aren’t finished yet.” Turion grabbed hold of Michael’s right arm.
“No, we are.” Michael grabbed hold of the hand that held his arm. It was then he felt the hot flash of heat and then Turion screamed out in pain. Michael found himself holding the stump of the arm from the elbow below.

Legion Resurrected Chapter 7

7.

Michael
During the drive to the Diner. Michael slumped back to the seat, with his hands on the steering, he recalled the War then with the Fallen Ones.
“How can this be?” Michael was late to the staging area. He was on a task elsewhere and recalled. He saw then hundreds of the brethren equipping themselves with the warrior attire and weapons. While he walked past them, their eyes were on him.
Michael was the appointed leader.
Michael saw Gabriel at the assigned area. The later was putting on his chest plate when he was tapped on the shoulder. He turned and saw Michael.
“Is it real? I am told that we are to battle the ….”
“The Fallen Ones. They are thus named for they have betrayed their cause and sought to rebel against us.” Gabriel adjusted the straps on his chest. Michael saw then the Horn of Eden, the weapon of Gabriel for with that horn, he could rally the others or create mayhem among them.
“They are our brothers and sisters, Gabriel. They were allowed to visit the other dimension on the approval of the Supreme. Why now are we to battle them?”
“I know not why or how but I followed the command of the Supreme. I was told that the Fallen Ones were influenced by Lucifer. He had them to impart our knowledge and gifts to the mankind.” Gabriel replied.
“Was that not our intentions, Gabriel? We have created them in our image and naturally, they shall emulate us.”
“We are the superior beings. We can decide what they can emulate from us but never to improve on it without our consent.” Gabriel replied. “It’s unheard of before and now will not be sanctioned. Mankind will serve us and not us to them.”
“Then why make them in our image and not given the right to think like us?” Michael asked then. “It defeated the purpose of mankind.”
“You speak like Lucifer. Are you sure you are for us or for the Fallen Ones?” Gabriel had questioned the other. He then added to his statement. “It does not matter what we do or not to mankind, they are already doomed to fail.”
Michael then stood there and decided to seek the audience of the Supreme.
“There will be no audience. The command once issued cannot be retracted. Be with me, Michael. Defeat the Fallen Ones and then will we seek clemency for them. You do know the wrath of the Supreme is ever vengeful but you are the chosen one. Argue for them but only after the defeat of the Fallen Ones.”
Michael sighed. He knew inside him, he had battle to win and then will the defeated be forgiven. It was the mercy of the victor to forgive. And mankind to be saved.
“Who are you, my saviour?” Michael asked himself. His injuries were not severed but given time, he will recover. He did admit that it was his arrogance to face Turion without weapon. He thought the lower rank Seraph Warrior will see to his way but he was wrong.
“I am in the wrong dimension. Here, I am not the great and powerful warrior. I am only another warrior. More so, when I am without the power of Excalibur.” Michael smiled. He had known then that upon giving Excalibur to Gabriel, he was endangering himself but it was needed to avoid the rumours that the new war was to start. Here he will fight with the mankind and with its weapon. He looked to the rifle he had recovered from the boot. It was a Mankind weapon and with it he will fight.
“I failed once but not this time.”

The Diner
Percy heard the shooting and took aim with his own rifle. He remembered the elderly lady and was unsure of what these will become. He was a soldier and as one, you do not questioned orders. You do as was instructed by the officers. He assumed the shooting below was his order. He can’t be wrong for those below him at the gas pumps were turning into something hideous.
Kyle saw the other shooting and rushed to the railings. He was to hesitate but when he saw the figures below becoming what he termed as monsters, he took up aim and shot at them. He saw them went down and then regain their steps.
“Shoot at their heads!” Percy called out.
Kyle moved his aims towards the head and with the Colt firepower, he was blowing the brains out of heads.
“I am out.” Percy called out and then grabbed the spare rifle. Kyle had then leaned over and reload the rifle for Percy. He stood up and saw the streak of exhaust by the shoulder missile fired into the group.
“I’ll be damned.” Kyle cussed out when he saw a section of the crowd was brought down with only ashes to remain of their bodies.
Bob lowered the RPG launcher before he blinked his eyes. He had used similar models but they were shooting duds or at metallic plates. Then he had unleashed the missile at a bunch of hideous creatures. They were still advancing despite the cross fire of shooting. He thought of Jeep and grabbed the RPG. He laid it on his shoulder and then armed the weapon. He fired at eye level.
“Oh my God!” Bob muttered in his cracking voice. He had never killed so many people with one shot.
“Grab a rifle. It isn’t over yet.” Michael call shook Bob’s vision of death. The former was reloading his ammo clip with his sight on the outside. He can hear the two guy’s upstairs were still shooting. They were doing a sound task with their aims on the head of the group of people. The dead were replaced with more cars turning up and soon the place was piling bodies. He turned to see Bob shooting with the Winchester, and reloading upon empty loads. Charlie was still at the other side, holding guard on the area there. There was Jeep standing in between the old man and the lady but he was not shooting. He was eyeing the rear where the fridge held as barricade. The young lady was still cowering in shock upon the death of her parents. The hand gun given to her was on the flooring.
“They are retreating.” Bob called out. “Maybe we won.”
Michael knew that was an impossible possibility. He had never seen a Seraph Warrior give up. He looked out and saw the hordes of demons had withdrawn to the road but they were massing up in the numbers. He then recognized the leader among them.
Turion.
Kyle saw the retreat and stepped away from the railing. The rifle in his hands was heated and the platform was scattered with spent ammo shells. Percy was still leaning on the railing waiting for the second wave.
“I doubt they are coming …. Maybe not for now.” Kyle told the other. “I will reload for you.”
“Not much to reload. I can count the loads. It’s the last two before I used my hook.” Percy looked at Kyle. “I don’t think you have much too.”
“Nay, I am with my last clip. I still got the handgun, and ….” Kyle rummaged through the bag and drew out two grenades. “Flash ones.”
“Well, keep one. We might go off in a bang.:” Percy laughed. “What a way to go huh? God must be looking at us.”
“I doubt God will plan it for us. After all, we are two bad mad critters.” Kyle joked about it. He had prayed nightly for the relief on his life but since then, all he was empty promises. He had believed in God since his mother took him to Church, but the stints of staying afloat have left him with a tinge of sarcasm to God’s way.
“Old man, do you believe in Heaven and Hell?”
“Son, the name is Percy. It was for Perseus; the Greek God. I am like the name. I am brave and will fight for what I believed in. Since you asked me of Heaven and Hell? Well, in the span of my life, I have seen both. And they exist but above all, I am the man to live my life.”
“Pardon me, Percy but you are all crap.” Kyle laughed and was followed by Percy. The later the stopped and looked below.
“I think they are going to parlay with us.”
Kyle looked below and saw the figure approaching the Diner. He was concerned then. It could mean the end or the beginning of a new end.
“Michael, meet me out here. I am here to talk.” The doorway of the Diner opened and Michael appeared. He had left his rifle behind and approached Turion.
“There can be only one victor today, Michael. You know it too. Please hand us the child.”
“There will be one victor and that will be the child. Withdraw your minions and let the child decide on mankind.” Michael replied. “We have intervened too much into mankind. It’s time for them to live on their own.”
“Michael, as we speak now mankind has been doomed by their own choices.” Turion replied. “You of all the others should know this.”
From the distance, the noise of destruction could be heard. The skies in the horizon was blazing red in some places.
“It started then.” Michael then looked back at the Diner. “The saviour….”
‘The war had started. It’s their war and they will be exterminated.” Turion smiled. “No one can stop what the Supreme wants. Not even you. Not even the so believed saviour.”
Michael looked again to the horizon. It was as planned; the end of mankind was there. It was their own doing and the world will soon collapse into turmoil and mishap. Order will become chaos.
“I cannot stop the war but I can save the world with its new leader.”
“The child is not their leader. There will be no leader if the world dies.” Turion laughed. It’s the circle of retribution.”
“Retribution? Are we all living in loops of events?” Michael asked. “I intend to change the events to a new cycle.”
“Remember Michael. You tried before and failed.”

Legion Resurrected Chapter 6

6.

Michael
The force of the blow threw him across the patrol bonnet before he landed on his face on the tarred road. He forced himself up on his elbow and looked at the five foes of his. He was not defenseless but his weapons were in the boot. He pushed himself up and faced the five demons left behind by the handler. Turion. The later had ridden off on the motorcycle then.
Michael crouched up on his elbows and knees, with his head hanging down. He could have taken on the demons with ease but his body was weak from the interdimensional travel and more to it, he was without his weapon; Excalibur. The patrol car was dented from the blows landed by the demons and he was not spared.
“I…” Michael mumbled to himself when he felt the arm on his left shoulder.
“Stay down. Michael.” The voice followed on by the touch. “These minions are mine.”
Michael lowered himself down to the ground when he heard the sound of blows and the screams of the demons. He laid on the ground and rolled over. He then turned to look and saw only three demons stood there facing what he could make out was a man dressed in black. The Man’s hands were bloodied from the sight of Michael’s blurred vision. He saw the man lurched forward and grabbed one of the demons by the neck and the sound of the bones cracking then. The demon dropped to the knees and then was dropped to the ground. The man then turned his body to lay a sidekick on the second demon before he twisted his body to leap up and then land a blow with the fist on the last demon’s head. The demon struck by the man’s fist fell to the ground with the skull cracked. The last surviving demon had turned to run but was stopped by the hand that went from his back to the front. The man pulled back his hand from the dead bloodied demon.
“Who …” Michael recovering then looked to know the identity of the man but the later had fled. Michael then slipped in unconsciousness.

The Diner
“Charlie, don’t be a fool.” Jeep had approached the pregnant lady who was holding the M 10 in her hands. “You should….”
“Heck, Jeep. They are coming for my baby. I can’t allow that.” Charlie's eyes welled with tears.
“They won’t harm the baby. Not while I am around.” Jeep replied. “Trust me.”
Those were his earlier words when he met Charlie some months back. Bob had told him to move his stuff out and vacate the caravan for the lady guest. He was every surprised at Bob’s generous gesture and took to the task. He grabbed his clothes and the books on auto repairs to place them into the boxes. He was to stay at the auto-repair shop as per Bob’s instruction. He then saw the picture of his mom with him at a younger age.
“She looked beautiful.” Jeep heard the lady spoke behind him. He turned to look at the pregnant lady who was to sleep on the bed that was his.
“She was. She’s my mother.” Jeep stepped aside in the narrow space between the bed and the cupboards on the other side. Charlie had stepped in and sat by the chair next to the TV set that he had. It was an old model and most times, was cranky with the reception there. He saw the disc player next to the TV set and recalled his set of pornographic discs. He was most times lonely in the desert and it was for his past times.
“How old were you when you took that?” Charlie asked.
“I think I was about three or four. I can’t remember and Mum, well, she was not sure.” Jeep smiled. His mother was a junkie and if she could remember anything, it was her habit to get fixed. “I think it was taken near our house.”
“You missed her?” Charlie felt silly asking that and corrected herself. “I know you …. I meant ….”
“Not much now. She left me alone most times. I was on the street with my friends mostly.” Jeep was raised on the street; running and fighting for his survival. “It was tough but I got on along.”
“Bob’s your father?” Charlie asked then.
“Yup, he is. He told me that he was making up for my childhood. I had nowhere to go so I followed him here. Anyway, I had to then.” Jeep recalled the day he left the city. Bob had settled his issue with a visit to the man that was owning him. He heard Bob gave the other work over and even broke the man’s right leg. Jeep did not regret that move. He was upset at being the man’s lackey to steal or pawn the stolen cars.
“You intend to stay long?” Jeep asked back towards Charlie. “I mean…”
“I don’t know. Probably not. Once I have my baby, I may move on.” Charlie had told him.
“You could leave the baby with me. I will be its father. I will love the baby.” Jeep hastily replied.
“No, I am taking the baby with me. I am not leaving the baby with anyone.” Charlie snapped back.
“You are going to find the father then?” Jeep asked.
“I don’t know. He was not like…He may not be the father I wanted for my baby.” Charlie replied. “I think it’s the wrong decision to stay here.”
“No! Please stay. I will not ask any more questions. I will be …here for you and the baby. I will protect the two of you. I promise.” Jeep made the promise that day. Charlie laughed at the young man’s intention. He was a fine lad and a decade of years separated them. She would have hugged him for his kindness but she was with the bulging tummy and that makes things rather awkward.
“Thanks, Jeep,” Charlie said the same words to Jeep that she uttered in the caravan that the first day they met. She had Jeep to care for her most times; he was there to get her new supplies and the occasional to talk with her on the lonely nights. Bob and Percy were not much of a company; and if they ever sit down to talk, it was mixed with war times tales and beers.
Charlie was unsure who was the father of the baby. She was mixed up in her life most times. Her last lover was a neurotic with some dark worshipping. He was into the dark arts and moved from towns to cities performing these rituals for the cults or anyone group that will invite him there. He will perform anything to please the audience; drugs to bloodletting dances or even the group orgies. Charlie was most times intoxicated and partake in them. They had left Las Vegas after a bad scam and he threatened to leave her if she ever babbled it out to the authorities. They got into an argument and he left her in the Diner.
“I am leaving you, Charlie. You are cursed. The child in you is too. Bye.” That was how she was left then; all alone by the gas pump and with a lousy five dollars note with no means to travel.
“Charlie, are you okay?” Jeep asked of her.
“Yeah, I am.”
“Hey, anyone to help? Howard is not breathing.” Sandra called out. “Please someone called the Hospital.”
Bob approached the wounded man cradled by the lady. He checked the wound and shook his head. He had seen such wounds in the war; it meant death was imminent.
“No! He can’t die.” Sandra leaned down to cradle her dead husband. When she leaned down to hold his face towards her, she did not expect the other to react. It was not a reaction of love but of madness. Howard the deceased bit into his wife’s right cheek. He took on bites at her face. She screamed and pushed him off. Her face was bloodied on the right side and Howard was still gnawing at his jaws. Michael saw the killing and aimed his rifle at Howard. The shot blew the later face into a mess of bones and flesh. He then turned to look at Sandra.
“She is infected.” Michael took the call to shoot her too in the face.
“No!” Audrey the surviving daughter screamed. She was seated at the feet of her dead father when the biting and then the shooting took place. She kicked out with her legs and crawled backward on her back. Bob rushed over and grabbed the lady to hold her. She struggled in his arms and continued screaming. It brought Kyle to shout from the roof opening on the situation below.
“What happened below?” Kyle called out.
Michael ignored the shout and approached the doorway., He placed the rifle he held at the gap between the planks. He started firing at the group outside.
“Shoot them before they formed into teams.”

Tweet...tweet.... 13/12... Finally Legion is done

For now anyway.

Legion; Resurrected took on so many twists and finally I concluded the ending for Book One ( 27 chapters at 48K words ). It will go on to new chapters in Book Two later. Sure took me a long time to write, re-write, changed the ending and re-changed. Geez, God bashing ain't that easy after all.

Guess what, it took me Friday 13th to complete it.

Today is that day that freaked some but to me, its another day in the calendar year. No, I won't plunge into a marathon of Friday 13th reruns. I saw the first one back when I was a teen, and it was not Jason I was looking at. And not Mama Jason either. I stopped at the third installments when I discovered other better views.

Pia Zadora was one. Never heard of her, huh? Well, I did.

I had to admit work took up my time and health too. On some days, I did not touch my laptop at all. My mind was zapped and all I wanted to do was sleep. But my wife will nag.

"Why ain't you writing?"

"Huh? You never read them."

"Why should I? I can hear you telling me them in your sleep. I know all your plots and worse, your heroines."

Since that day. I slept on my side facing the wall. The wall won't tell me what I said last night.

And 2019 comes to an end soon. I have a personal book to write on. It's a fictional account of my grandfather born in 1900 and died in 1979. He saw the fall of the Manchurian Dynasty in 1911. he told me ran off that morning to cut his pig end hair. He sailed to the new land with his Uncle down the coasts of South East Asia towards Straits Settlement. He made his business here and survived WWII when the Japanese Army occupied the country. he told me of the days in the jungles to hide from the Japanese, and how he missed the calling to be sent to the Burma Railways. He told me of the atrocities and the war. When that was over he saw the uprising of the communist with the British Colonials, the Independence of Malaysia, the Confrontation with Indonesia, the civil unrest of 1969, and many other events.

I lived with him when younger, and he told me many tales. I owed him this to showcase for the generations to come. Not all of it will factual ( that may be boring ) but the zest of fictional accounts will make it good write.

And I re-doing my sketches which I once used to do at the early teens. The skills need to be trained once more. Hopefully, I can do my best renditions once more with James Garner and Roger Moore portraits. And Koo Stark.

Don't know them too? Never mind.

Cheers

Legion Resurrected Chapter 5

5.

Michael
The drive to the Diner was to take three hours, according to his data compilation but he met some obstacles on the route. It was not any coyotes but one of the Seraph Warrior with a few converted of his own. Michael the Seraph Warrior. His name was Turion, one of the Seraph Warriors sent there.
“Hello, Turion.” Michael had stopped the patrol car on the road and then stepped out. Turion was one of the front-line warriors. He had fought with Gabriel then who was also a leader like Michael. He had offered to stay back to hunt the others and bring them back to Eden. Turion was a tall hard case with the frame that was probably modeled for Atlas. He was dressed in the leathers complete with boots and a huge motorcycle. He operated on the Mojave stretch along Highway 95 to the borders of Canada. He was the enforcer on that area. He had five of his men with him in the same attires. They have automatic guns.
“Oh, Michael. I did not know it was you they asked me to stop you.” Turion replied. “The command came to stop a renegade, Angel.”
“The command was right. I am a renegade. So, let me through.” Michael voiced out.
“I am sorry, Michael. I have my orders.” Turion defied the request. “The words have been adhered to. I will not stop you but they will do.”
The five men stepped forward and faced Michael. One moment they were men in leather attire and with a flash, they switch to the new look. It was the pale-faced expression with the bloodied eyes and their upper limbs extended out with the talons appearing on the finger ends.
“Demons…” Michael had fought these creatures before in the last war. They were not of mankind or the Seraph Warriors but the creation of the deviants that were brought from neither dimensions by some of the Fallen Ones. They fought as the frontline warriors with the Fallen Ones.
Michael knew that there was nothing he could say to these demons that will stop them. They are mindless creatures. He saw behind the line up of demons, Turion has mounted his motorcycle to leave, as expected the master will leave the minions to do the killing.

The Diner
Percy having mounted the ladders and stepped onto the platform. It was a narrow area to do maintenance on the mounted display board there that said Paradise Falls Diner. He had not been up there for some time but he did assist in the mounting of the board when they opened up the Diner. He recalled Bob calling him over when he was residing at the basement unit of the living five-story building, he had called home. He was the janitor with the responsibility there but there were insufficient resources to do his works, so he just remained the recluse he was at his unit. Bob came to him that afternoon and offered him a new life. One that was far from the madding crowd and allowed him to do what he does best; cooking. He had remembered the drive there and has stood out of the car looking at the rundown diner along the freeway that snaked across the Mojave Desert. He recalled then the structure was the only unit with the nearest inhabited structure miles away in either direction.
“Are you mad, Bob? This is the desert.” Percy cursed out. “Who will come here?”
“Us, and the others who will drive that route. We will their oasis. We will be their sanctuary. We will…” Bob stopped then. “Heck! Percy, it’s the only place I can afford and you will help me to run it. You could still cook the burgers over the grill. You could make the …”
It was then Percy turned to leave but Bob stopped him.
“Percy, I need you to do it with me. Okay, do it for my son. He’s coming next week.” That was what Percy did not expect.
“You bring your son here? You must be mad. This is no paradise for the young man. Go back to the city, please.”
“It will be his paradise. Here is where paradise fell from the sky and reborn with him.” Bob explained to Percy. “You could be there to help. You promised me when in the Marines that you will take care of my family. Please remember that.”
“That was when we thought will die then.” Percy and Bob were caught in the ambush then. He had promised that to Bob.
“When I will be soon. I am diagnosed with the big C. It will months or some years but I won’t see Jeep marry or my grandkids.” Bob replied. “It’s the lungs.”
Percy had sighed then. He had told Bob to stop smoking but the pal of his was not any man to be told. He agreed then and they spruced up the place, and even build the auto-repair. They were talking to the contractor on the name for the Diner.
“I got a board that the buyer did not want. He paid for it though.” The man told Bob and Percy. It read “Paradise Falls”. Bob was taken in then and convince the contractor to mount it. He told Percy then; “It’s what God will agree with us.”
“Hey, Pop. You are going to help me or do I kick the bag over?” Percy heard the younger man. He turned to look at the man struggling with the bag. Percy reached out and pulled the heavy bag towards him. The two of them then steadied their steps on the platform.
“Wow! Beautiful view.” Kyle looked to the vast desert that laid in front of them. Percy was used to that sight and was not surprised by the other’s view although the desert was overcast then. He recalled then that such sight was when the rain was to come, but that was not the rain he was expecting. He reached into the bag with his good hand and withdraw the rifle.
“M4.,,” Percy mumbled to himself when he held the rifle in his good hand. He balanced the rifle onto his metal hook and looked through the scope.
“Pop? That rifle recoil... Could you really handle it? Perhaps the handguns…” Kyle looked at the grill master with the metal hook.
“Son, I have used the rifles like these when you were in diapers. And the name is not Pop. Its Percy.” The man replied while he aimed the rifle at the road.
“And it isn’t a son to anyone. My name is Kyle. I was just asking.” Kyle grabbed himself a Browning to tuck into the waist belt and then the M16A4 he was familiar in the Marines.
“Kyle, can you pass me the other rifle, loaded, please? I have some difficulty loading them with my hook.” Kyle heard the request and leaned the spare M4 on the platform railing. He then paced the narrow platform and scouted the area he could see. It was a good observation point but hopeless in defense in a firefight.
“Percy, can I ask why are you here? Are we loco to be doing this stunt?”
“Son…. I mean Kyle. There is a reason for everything. It’s God’s will that we will be standing here.”
“I don’t accept that bullshit. We aren’t standing here to preach but to guard or shoot sooner or later.” Kyle questioned his action then. “One moment I was having a stopover, have a short rest, and then moved on but I ended witnessing some weird lady that could kill us but was shot before she could do that.”
“Your mama told you to talk that fast or am I just getting old listening to you.” Percy replied. “How would I know why you had a stopover and why the lady became that weird demon? All I know is that my Corporal told me to take guard duty and here I am.”
“Corporal? What the…. Were you in the Army?” Kyle asked.
“1st Marines,” Percy replied. “So was Bob. He was Corporal on discharge.”
“2nd Marines. Semper Fi.” Kyle replied. “How did you get yourself wounded?”
Percy knew that the young man was referring to his hook.
“Misjudgement and I lost it. Why are you out here?” Percy changed the subject.
“Driving to see my son in Chicago,” Kyle replied and it was then he saw the headlights. “We got a company.”
Kyle saw the headlights on both directions and looked like they were headed towards the Diner. He counted to twenty cars before he gave up. The cars had then arrived and parked in front of the Diner with the headlights turned on. The cars have parked before the gas pumps and the drivers stepped out. They looked like anyone you would have met in your life; office staff, plain-looking folks, and even a police officer from his Patrol car. They were all standing there by their car doors and looked blankly at the Diner. None made any move to step forward into the Diner.
Down below, Michael had seen the headlights too. He peeked through the barricade of planks and then spoke up.
“They are here.”
“Who are they?” Charlie asked.
“Your son’s executioners,” Michael replied and then armed himself.
“Like Hell they will.” Charlie cussed out. She then walked towards the duffle bag and took out the Browning. She checked the ammo clip and cocked the gun.
“You seem to know your guns,” Audrey asked from her seated position.
“Sister, I have used them guns since I was young. I even shot at some idiots who tried to rape me.” Charlie was familiar with the weapons and had shot at the drunk who thought she was an easy lay; the drunk was shot in the arm and ran off from her.
“I’m not your regular bitch.” Charlie grabbed the M 10 gun and slammed it in the ammo clip.

Legion Resurrected Chapter 4

4.

Michael
“Don’t move.” Michael heard the request but he lowered the duffle bag on the floor.
“I said don’t move.” Michael looked towards the two uniformed officers who had cornered him packing the weapons. He could make out their names on the name tags. They have drawn their weapons and were aiming at Michael.
“Officer Stuart, I am in the need to move,” Michael spoke to the officer on the right. The other officer named Luka had moved closer to the five packed bags and one wooden crate. Luka crouched and open the duffle bag flaps.
“Wow! Stuart. These are military grades.” Luka was looking at the contents. He was previously from SWAT and upon the birth of his daughter, he relented to his wife's request. He joined the street patrol and handed domestic incidents. He could make out the Colt M4A1 automatics and some other guns. He could identify the Mac 10 which was popular with the street gangs. He flipped the other bags and identified the Winchester rifles, the Browning handgun with the laser scope, and the sets of two shoulder-held RPG launcher AirTronic with four spare rockets. There were some flash grenades too.
“I will be damned.” Stuart smiled. Twenty years in the force and due to retirement with a pension that will not keep the food on the table of four at his home. He was impressed with the arrest and saw himself promoted before the retirement. He was happy for Luka; the man got his years to do and Sergeant stripes will on that man.
“Officers, I am running out of time.” Michael knew the screw-up. He was late in the crossing. He was to be there nine months ago and prevented the conception but the unit or the calculation was faulty and he ended up here close to her delivery.
“Stay there,” Stuart warned Michael. “I am calling in.”
When Stuart reached for the comm unit, he was looking away. Michael had the handgun in his left hand and shot Stuart and then Luka. It was a fast lightning move that only the Seraph Warrior was able to do.
Later, Michael loaded the weapons onto the patrol car, and drove at the maximum speed to the Diner.

The Diner
“Be quick!” Michael stepped to the doorway and looked outside. There was his stolen patrol car; it served him well, with its condition reduced to dented in some places and the siren lamps hanging by the cables only. It was a showpiece of bad or reckless driving compared to the two-seater Buick GNX. It was dated to the ’80s but the turbocharged V6 was a muscle car with corvettes taking its exhaust smoke on the straight. Michael had reckoned it belongs to Kyle for the family will not have such a number in their garage. He could make out the pickup truck with Paradise Falls logo. He saw that in the Diner sign on the roof. The vehicles were to the left side of the gas pump. The road was about fifty feet from the gas pump, and they have a clear firing zone from the gas pump towards the right side. He could see down the road for another a mile, the flat terrain at the desert was barren of any real growths to line the horizon. He looked opposite the road towards the desert and was greeted by the huge spans of acrid land. He then turned to look at Bob who was still standing there for his reply.
“I drove like Hell. Now that is done, do you have access to the roof?” Michael asked.
“Yeah like Hell we do,” Bob replied. He motioned to the ladder at the rear of the Diner next to his office. “We have a platform there where we placed the beach chairs. It’s a good view of the sunset.”
Michael ignored the man and proceeded to remove the guns. He looked at Percy who was standing behind the counter.
“Can you shoot?” Michael asked. Before Percy could reply, Michael, turned to Kyle who had left his seat to join the others at the counter. “Can you? You have been away for some time.”
Kyle nodded.
“Then grab one bag with the rifles and ammo. Move upstairs with the cook.” Michael called out. He then proceeded to move the nearby table towards the doorway. He stopped momentarily and asked Bob if there were shutters or wooden plank, he could barricade the doors and windows.
“Yeah, I got some in the back,” Bob replied with a sarcastic tone. “For emergencies like these.”
“Man, you have not told me why are you here?” Bob stopped in his step to query the other. “And I’m not nobody’s….”
“No one asking you to do things you should not be. But right now, we are all in danger. So, help me or stay out of my way.” Michael replied in anger. “What you saw earlier was only one. There will be more. And they will eat you alive.”
“See here, Man. I …” Bob was stopped by Charlie.
“Bob, he may be right. We have to get ready.” Charlie pleaded with Bob. “I don’t if he is right or wrong, but I am scared.”
Kyle had then grabbed a bag and proceeded to the ladder where he was joined by Percy. They climbed up while the others arranged the tables and chairs against the wall. Bob brought back to his senses called on Jeep to assist him. He had those wooden planks after the previous year’s storm had nearly uprooted them from the desert.
“Bob, do you trust the man?” Jeep asked in this southern accent towards Bob. He was raised by the mother in the small town where the livelihood was the farms before they moved to the city.
“I’m not trusting nobody with my Diner. Not till its handed to you.” Bob replied while he was pulling off the planks from the storage.
“I am not staying on, Bob, I told you so.” Jeep replied. “The Diner…”
“It’s your home whether you liked it or not. I invested in all our savings here. So, help me God, if I have to die protecting it.” Bob was getting into his foul mood. He reached for his pocket and extracted the packet of cigarettes to fish out a stick. He lighted one stick and placed it to his lips. He inhaled in deep the smoke while it relaxes him.
“Heck, Bob. Watch where you toss the light.” Jeep stepped on the lighted match stick to snuff the fire out. “You almost blew us up.”
The match stick landed close to the two jerry cans of gas that was kept there for the generator in case of a power breakdown. It was over the basement entrance. No one goes there except Percy and Bob. It was a no-man’s land according to them. Not even Jeep was allowed there.
“Heck! It won’t blow us all. It can be put off by the extinguisher.” Bob hissed back. He then moved the items there and revealed the basement doorway. “Never had much use for it but I guess we may today,”
“I did not know we have a basement.” Jeep was surprised at that hidden level.
“Why would you? You were always at the auto repair or at Charlie’s ….”
“Hold on, Bob. I was not doing anything at Charlie’s except talk.” Jeep defended himself. “She is a good girl.”
“Yeah, tell me. Did she open her legs towards you too?” Bob was in the swing to add more emotions to his anger. “After all, she is pregnant, and in need to hitch one to survive on.”
“Hold your tongue, Bob.” Jeep had grabbed the older man by the lapel of the shirt and slammed him to the wall. “Charlie isn’t that kind of lady.”
“Okay, she isn’t. I was just looking out for you.” Bob replied to his son’s anger. He pulled Jeep’s hands-off and then stared at the younger man.
“You took her in, Bob. Why did you do it?” Jeep asked in return. “She was no family and you ….”
“No, Jeep. I was not eyeing her neither. It was the Good Christianity in me that extended the help.” Bob turned to grab some more planks. He had been a follower of the Faith but of late with his dying days near, he had become a recluse and avoided believing in anything.
“Good God, Bob. You are and I was not any religious follower. So, don’t lie to me.” Jeep insisted on an answer.
“It does not matter anymore, Jeep. God left us when your mother died. Here are the last pieces. And above all, if the need comes to get into the basement. It may save your life.” Bob grabbed the pieces of planks and the handy box with the tools. He pushed himself past Jeep and went back to the front side of the Diner. Michael had done a fair task by piling up the chairs and tables against the door and windows. He had also arranged injured Howard to the side of the counter with the two ladies in attendance to the man.
“Let me secure those windows.” Bob offered his help. He was doing it for it was his Diner. He then noticed the missing elderly lady.
“Where is she? The elderly lady?” Bob asked.
“I tossed her out. She was gone. Her soul banished to Purgatory.” Michael replied while he loaded the weapons.
“Purgatory huh? I guess we are all headed there.” Bob replied but Michael had moved on. He stepped to the back kitchen and saw the rear exit. He looked out and saw the caravan. There was not much he could do there. He then grabbed hold of the fridge next to the door and moved it over the doorway. He saw the rear window and barricaded that with the upturned oven table. He strolled back and saw the two ladies looking at him while cradling the wounded man.
“Take a gun each. The handguns and some ammo. Shoot if need be. Or shoot yourself.” Michael told them. He then turned to Charlie who was seated at the chair taking deep breaths.
“Stay calm. The baby is….”
“The baby is fine. It’s not due just yet.” Charlie looked at Michael. “Who are you?”
“I am the baby’s protector. I will do so for you until its birth.”

Legion resurrected: Chapter 3

3.

Michael
Michael had arrived crouched on his knees and face buried to his knees. It was not a smooth move between the dimension, unlike the way he did it then at the war with the Fallen. It was the Supreme to open the huge doorway for the five thousand Seraph Warriors than with him in command. The current one he took was one taken by the Seraph for their assignment. It normally takes the technicians some time to prepare the machine for its use with the exact weight and height with other factors but Michael had no such luxury for his trip.
It was not sanctioned.
The machine was an inter-dimensional travel unit, and if properly programmed could place the person within feet of his original area. It could only transport one person at a time.
His arrival time was wrong. He was expecting darkness but ended up with bright daylight although he was shielded by the shadow of the tall walls. The smell of brimstones greeted his nostril and he huffed it out. He had smelled that many times but was surprised to have that scent there where he landed. He recalled then that he was no more in Eden but the other dimension.
The dimension where once the Fallen ruled supreme before Michael was to vanquish them in a war that turned brothers into enemies. He regretted the action but the will of the Supreme was the ultimate and non-dare challenge it except for the one named Lucifer.
“I am the second to do that,” Michael mumbled to himself on that thought. He felt his body was weak He shook his head thinking it was the travel through the dimension. He decided to clear the muddled thoughts and took hold of his situation then. He had arrived nude to the dimension but he was secured in the shadowed alley off the prying eyes of passing traffic. He noticed it was still daylight in the dimension he arrived. He adjusted his sight to accommodate the lower light there before he took onto his next task.
With his internal mechanism in tune, Michael then recalled the data that he had retrieved. He was at the alley behind the place. He stood up and flexed his muscles. He then surveyed the alley and found the place. All it needed then was the reach. He flexed his shoulder blades and the wings of feathers appeared. It grew on both sides until the wings reached above his head. It took him some effort to move the wings out. It was as if the wings did not belong to him.
Soon he got it out and then spread the wings and it reached out to double his height on both sides. He looked up and his body soared to the sky. He targeted the roof and then flew. His flight was cumbersome and almost knocked himself to the walls. He struggled with the wings and then landed on the roof. His wings retracted inside his shoulder blades on his will command, and then he made his way towards the sky window. It was not locked and he leaped in. He landed in the dark warehouse. His sight was then adjusted to the twilight and saw what he needed.
The clothes fit him well. He had on a dark shirt and pants with a pair of leathers with a dark leather overcoat that reached his knees. He found a homburg to complete the top. He seals back the boxes and then walked to the other sections. He found the section that he was looking for and held the latch there.
“Who are you?” Michael heard the question. He turned to look at the figure who asked him that question. The move taken by Michael was unprecedented and fast. He leaped on the strength of his feet and landed with the right elbow on the other’s head closing the distance of ten feet in split seconds. Michael picked himself up and then turned to the earlier doorway. Inside there were his weapons to fight the war.

The Diner.
“Who are you?” Bob raised the question at the figure with the overcoat and held a menacing automatic which had terminated an equally menacing lady that was not one.
“My name is immaterial. You are all in danger.” Michael who was the one who shot the elderly lady. “They are coming.”
“Who?” Bob was baffled.
“Hey, I need help.” It was Sandra who called the attention of all. “Howard needs help.”
That jolted the others in the Diner to react. Bob went for the First Aid Box where he removed the wads of bandages. He was joined by Percy but the later was hindered by the false arm that he had fashioned with metal hook. Bob placed the bandage on the wound to stop the bleeding and then tried to fashion it around the neck. It was working then but Howard required medical attention.
“It will hold but he will go into a shock unless I jab him with this.” Percy produced the morphine filled syringe. It was his old habit to store some nearby. He jabbed the morphine in and the told the wife to hold him. They had laid the wounded man on the floor for that was the flat surface then.
“The phone is out,” Charlie called out. She saw then the clouds outside the Diner was dark cast and the sun was not seen even though it was only three in the afternoon. She looked to the clock to confirm her time but the clock was not working. Both hands on the clock had dropped to the numeral six.
“Six? It can’t be.” Charlie muttered out. She then found herself looking to the menu display behind the counter.
“Six meals to suit your taste.” It was there every day but that was the first time she actually read it.
“Six?” Charlie looked away to the outside. Everywhere she saw was the dark shadows out there. The wind was blowing the sands into small twirls then and the numeral six was made out there. The tele display then popped back and the images were blurred with the sound gabbled with something that looked like sixes on the screen.
It was like the scene out of the horror movie except the Diner was not on any movie set. Everyone stayed still in their positions and the silence was gravely disturbing then. The humming noise from the cooler units resonated across the hall, but the air was warm.
It was to be a hot day like Hell.
“They are coming.” Michael voiced out again. It was then Jeep rushed in with the sawn-off shotgun. He heard the shots and reacted grabbing the gun. It was his personal unit that he kept as a needed friend after the incident with the motorcycle gang a year ago. They rode in with heavy throttle bikes and took to the gas. There were six of them and decided to leave without paying. Jeep intervened and was given the rough over until Bob stopped them with the shotgun. They stopped and left without paying.  Jeep suffered some bruises and swollen lips. It was Percy who treated the lad and Bob gave him a gun.
“Don’t move, Mister. I will shoot.” Jeep cautioned Michael.
“You would have if you could.” Michael looked at Bob. “I am here to save all of you and that unborn child. They are coming.”
Bob having recovered from the shot up of the lady then looked to Percy.
“Get the guns.” Bob has some weapons that he kept for the end of the world situation. And Percy was his accomplice for that. It was a small arsenal; some handguns, two hunting rifles and an automatic rifle that predate the Korean War.
“I got more in my car. Get them from the boot.” Michael told them. “Hurry up, we don’t have much time.”
Percy was the first to move and followed by Bob, but not the others. Michael looked up at them.
“My name is Michael and I am here to save all of you. The child carried by the lady is the cause of your predicament. That child and its mother will be harmed by those who are on the way here.” Michael waited for the words to sink in. He was looking at three ladies and three men who were unsure of what was happening. They have no military experiences or maybe that Kyle did but he is the father of a young babe. That made him a wary warrior with his mind on staying alive than to fight to the death.
“Why …. Are they after me?” Charlie spoke up. “What are they?”
“Angels to you but Seraph Warriors to me. They are here to kill your baby.”
“My baby? Why?” Charlie reached out to her child. Her hands cradled the extended belly as if she was carrying the child.
“I will explain it later.” Michael saw the others have returned with two large duffle bags.
“Jeep, they are more. Can you help? My back hurts.” Bob has a bad back from his service days. He was in the Vet Hospital but all they did was give pain killers. He was discharged and given a recurring prescription. If the pain was bad, he will rely on Percy for the morphine shots.
“Tell me, mister….” Bob was interrupted by Michael.
“My name is Michael. Please call me that.”
“He is a lunatic. He just told me that my baby was hunted by the Angels.” Charlie cut in. “I say he is to leave now.”
“Charlie, they are Seraph Warriors. You saw one of them today. They possessed the bodies of the …. Earthlings and then made them …. demonic slaves.”
“Now he is talking …. lunacy words.” Charlie getting agitated. “I say we kicked him out.”
“Hold on one second. Howard was attacked by the …. Demon who said earlier that it was going to destroy the baby. Maybe he is right.” Sandra looked up from her seated position on the floor cradling her husband. “Howard was a good man. And a loving father.”
“He was, Sandra. That does not change the situation here. We need to arm ourselves. They are almost here.” Michael looked to the others who were to share their destiny with the unborn child.
“How did you get the weapons? Those are military grade. And the car? That is a police car from Las Vegas. I think you wrecked the engine
