Preys and Predators Part 1 Chapter 50

 

50                Pick your targets. 

 

The roar of the elephant gun bellowed louder than the lion when it was shot. The elephant gun was used to stop the charging elephant or rhinoceros and when used on the lion, it tossed the animal backwards. The second lion which was attacking Mr. Hyde was tossed at the cheetah, which on seeing the threat sped away.

Mr. Hyde removed of the threat by the animals, turned its focus onto the gathered there. It charged at the one who was bandaged there.

“Stop the monster!” Lord Dennis called out while he took to the safety of the castle. He was unarmed and decided that castle will offer him some refuge.  

Doctor Manfred saw the danger posed by Mr. Hyde and had ordered the super warriors there. He had only four there. They all charged at the raging Mr. Hyde. They body slammed at Mr. Hyde who was pushed back by them. They then rushed to hold him down.

Mr. Hyde fought with his strength but he was unable to get up. It was then Count Vlad rushed forth and bit the Super warrior holding Mr. Hyde’s left arm.

The Count had no strength in him but his deadly bite there on the right shoulder of the Super warrior. The bite was deep and with the taste of the blood from the Super warrior’s flesh, Count Vlad felt the renewed urge to suck in mor blood.

It was nourishment then.

The blood tasted differently.

Count Vlad could not care much, while he sucked on the blood. He felt his strength renewed and then the pain came.

“Arghh…” Count Vlad shrieked out. He got off the Super warrior and rolled to the grass.

The pain was excruciating inside him.  Then he felt the changes inside him. He got up his knees and glared at the four Super warriors. It was the expression of confusion that was seen by the Count. He sprang from his knees and thrust his right hand at the Super warrior he bit. His hand slammed into the chest, and pierced the flesh. The impact broke the ribs beneath the flesh and the Count reached out to the throbbing heart. He grabbed and pulled it out.

“Ya……” The Count screamed out holding the bloodied heart in his right hand. He squeezed the heart to draw the blood out into his mouth.

The other three Super warriors were stunned by the attack had allowed Mr. Hyde to break free. He kicked out with his legs and detangled from the Super warriors. He crouched and then charged at the Super warrior next to him. He slammed at the chest level and pushed the Super warrior to the grass behind. He was deranged then and grabbed the second Super warrior by the wrist and swung him across the grass area. The remaining Super warrior stood there looking at Mr. Hyde, when the Count came from the rear and grabbed the back of the neck. The strengthened fingers tore into the flesh there and grabbed spine to sever the connection to the head. He then pulled hard at the spine bones to remove it from the flesh. The Super warrior screamed out in pain and fell forward on its face.

“Oh my God!” The Admiral saw the carnage. “Fire the damned gun now!”

The sailors manning the gun had fled the scene. The Admiral ran to the gun and saw the barrel was aimed at Mr. Hyde.

“Die, you monster!” The Admiral pulled at the firing pin. The gun roared out.

While all this was going on at the garden, Ermir had entered the castle by the servant’s entrance. His men followed him close behind. The one named No.3 called out.

“Shtëpia ime është po aq e madhe.” (Translated form Albanian to English; My house is only as big.)

“Gruaja juaj zë më shumë se gjysmën e shtratit.” (Translated form Albanian to English; Your wife occupies more than half of the bed.” No. 4 said.

“Bastard!” No. 3 cursed at his friend.

“Settle down all of you. We are here to rescue the friends of the Doctor. Please behave.” Ermir called out, and then looked at Mary.

“Forget them. They are still…… children.” Mary Reid was uninterested and was watching the carnage at the garden. She had seen such carnage but never during it. It was the after killing scene.

“Oh my God!” Mary was distressed then. Jon came to her side and pulled her away.

“Let us find the servant.”

“She is there. They left her to die like a skinned calf.” Mary gasped at the horror of the scene. “I must save her.”

Mary rushed out of the castle onto the garden with her revolver drawn. She took aimed at the guards who were standing near the hanging structure. She shot them both dead in the head. She was then pushed to the ground by Jon who saw the shooter aiming at Mary. He landed over her body and took aimed with his Winchester. He fired at the one who was shooting at Mary. More of the guards there had turned their attention to Jon and Mary. They were firing at the duo when Ermir and his men returned fire.

There were six guards and three went down in the shootout. The other three were shit by the hunters with their well-aimed shots. “Done.” Olad smiled when he lowered his Nagant rifle.

“One bullet to charge the Colonel later.”

In the woods, Mycroft was met with resistance form anther group of sailors there who sighted them. They were seven of them compared to four of Mycroft’s team. He called out for the retreat to the trees for cover. It was then the shots rang out from the treelines. Two sailors went down before the rest also retreated to the trees. It was not Mycroft’s men but from the creek area.

“Told you I could shoot.” The retired Colonel called out while he reloaded the rifle.

“Aye, Colonel Sir. You bloody did.” The Sergeant Major acknowledged.

“Try to shoot lower, Colonel Sir.” It was the Sergeant Major who shot one of the sailors, while the other was by Doctor Watson who had stood his ground and shot the rifle.

The remaining sailors were then shot at by Mycroft other members of the team with also Colonel Moran lending support. The sailors surrendered then. 

“Three bullets, Sir. You owe me three bullets.” Olad called out.
